Aye, I'm not a Trump hater but I fear that in his desperation to be seen as the peacemaker, Putin will run rings round Trump & he'll agree to a deal that massively favours Russia.

As you say, Zelensky rightly will not accept such a deal & will then be blamed for the war continuing & possibly will have US support withdrawn.

I said that above a few days ago, it'll all be the fault of Zelenskyy when peace doesn't happen overnight, and Trump will go back to suggesting that the war is all down to Zelenskyy........and of course Biden, as he'll again claim it would never have started if he was in charge

He will get the land he wants, as Trump will be eager to look like he's the peacebroker.

Following that, Belarus will, within a couple of years, likely be swallowed up as part of Russia, then he'll do the same with Transnistria.

At which point, Russia will share a border with around 80% of Ukraine and almost completely surround it. He will push for regime change and probably get it.

Trump will be a distant memory by the time Putin gets his way, which he will.

Just watching BBC now, they have some former Russian politician on, Boris Bondarev, who seems to think that Putin is going to dictate how the meeting goes, and as he's currently "winning" is in the driving seat, and will demand everything gained so far, plus a "bit more" territory. If that is true, and who knows if it is, then the talks are just going to be a waste of time

According to Wiki it was tradition to serve two terms but not law. Roosevelt did four but that was because they reckon he performed well during the Great Depression and WW2 but wasn't law then

Trump is going the way of Biden, no way he would finish a third term in office. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a heart attack this term, he's more than a bit podgy.
