‘Keir Starmer says the Ukraine war is now closer to ending than ever before thanks to President Trump’

Every single day the Ukraine war is closer to ending than ever before, due to a physics phenomenon called 'time'. Starmer is paying lip service to a geriatric imbecile who happens to hold one of the most powerful positions in the world, because he is very good at conning hordes of thick people.

They wouldn't get their land bridge to Crimea if that's the case. I'd be really surprised if they went for anything that didn't include that.

aye, that's what they wanted most as far as I can see

am sure they will get it, if Ukraine get a promise it won't happen again

not a promise from Russia

but one from US and EU that they will ensure it doesn't happen

When they gave up their nuclear weapons , they had that agreement , how did that turn out, fucked over twice that's how it turned out, cant see it happening a third time

I'm not sure why anyone would have any issue with Starmer's interactions with Trump really

There's a huge disparity in power between our two countries and Trump's a very volatile character

I think Starmer's managed him about as well as any Prime Minister could

Every country in the West has to suck up to Trump, Brexit or no Brexit

Well, yes

But I'd prefer to be sucking up from a better place than we are

It's difficult to see how it'd be a better place currently

The deal between the EU and the US was enormously one-sided

As was ours, but ours was probably the best it could ever realistically be regardless of whether we were a member state of the EU

You mean he’s ‘sucked up’ to him better than other leaders? What a world we live in.

Call it what you like, any British Prime Minister would be forced to do the same and he's doing it well

I think people got so used to the daily scandals and culture war bullshit of the last Government that they've subconsciously started making stuff up about the current one, because they are quite boring and are just getting on with their jobs - as it should be.

The Donald is bound to get an easier ride from the UK PM

He needs one after the utter walloping he got from the old Cossack enemy yesterday.

I don’t remember any Prime Minister having to deal with a President like Trump. Starmer isn’t being ‘forced’ to do anything. It’s his choice. A bad choice from a weak leader in my opinion.
He could tell Trump that he’s wrong. He could tell Trump that Europe doesn’t agree with him. He could tell Trump that Ukraine deserves better than a bilateral peace summit that doesn’t involve Ukraine. He could but he doesn’t. He’s weak. He’s irrelevant.

You don't remember who was Prime Minister from 2016 to 2020?

The EU deal with the US is not one sided, the US cant fulfill what they agreed to,  that was to sell the EU 140% of US energy production, that would mean that all the contracts which the US energy companies have all ready signed for the supply of LNG and oil would have to be ripped up, just to supply the EU and still be 40% short, the EU just listen to the bullshit that he spouted and just smiled, because they know that the US cant supply it , the just massaged his ego, smiled and walked away, nothing will come of it
