What happens when the boomer generation die off in their droves within the next 10-15 years?

Another Renaissance.

Indeed, the sooner the better

I see the US are reviewing their position on the Falklands as a consequence of us not going to war with them in Iran.

BN calling the shots, right wing dictators attemmpting to undermine other countries' politics again... Trump and pals want Starmer out so they can install their own preferred person (who might that be?)

We likely find ourselves in a healthier place

Remember when people on here were kicking off because Obama suggested the UK should remain in the EU - and told us all how the US shouldn't be getting involved in UK politics? 😁

Respect the locals and let them decide

But it's like Gibraltar and Northern Ireland, if they were given back no one would notice one bit

If the silly twats hadn’t invaded they’d probably have them now.

As it stands they have no fucking chance

No support for Trumpy from the Trumpettes overnight. I wonder why. Perhaps the penny has finally dropped that the guy is a complete tosser.

Interesting week ahead with the king’s visit. I would love Charles to call the orange man baby out publicly on the disrespect he’s shown for our country, territory and armed forces in particular.

No chance, they'll be doubling down soon enough

It’s all going terrifically well isn’t it?

Patience, that's all that's required, it's all part of a huge plan. The disruption the world needed

Can someone please explain how BN is managing to pull Trump's strings so we'll?

Argie visits Israel supporting their latest war, one week later US seemingly supporting Argentina's claim over a UK territory

It does all seem very odd doesn't it

It’s almost though BN has a copy of some files or something on Dodgy Don, which makes him do anything he wants. 🤔

Same as Putin really.

Well there are some religious nutjobs in and around that administration. I think that has a big influence on their thinking.

There's one or two actively trying to usher in 'the second coming' - which is alarming in itself.

The UK and Europe have spent the last couple of decades building ourselves as globalists which the US now seems to be retreating from at pace. We need to make a decision about whether we do the same way. And they also seem to be moving back to the 'spheres of influence politics'.

Personally I think we should be throwing our lot in with the Europeans - who seem to still have some degree of moral fibre about them.

We are no longer strong enough militarily to cope alone. I don't think many individual countries in Europe are anymore. So we need to start rapidly thinking about our own collective defence - and distance ourselves from the US until they either go completely bat shit crazy (which is currently my best estimation on where they will end up) OR see the absolute folly of their current approach, and return to reasonable and a rules based international order.

Either way - Europe needs to be self sufficient. The US have stopped being a reliable ally.

Definitely time for an European Army, thing is THE most capable and battle hardened army must be the Ukrainians, do we include them?

Why wouldn't you? They are in Europe.

I recall, at the time of the Brexit vote, one of the reasons given for leaving was the possibility of an EU army. I do remember, specifically, that Miami seemed to be especially terrified of this, for some reason.

Maybe it is time to ditch NATO, and go with a European army, as we clearly, as things stand, can't rely on the US

Do you have to join the EU to be part of the Army?

If it was an EU army, then probably. If it's a European army, then being European, you would hope, would be enough to qualify.

Italy would struggle to qualify.
