Just back. V good performance that deserved at least the draw. What a difference having Wellington firing on all cylinders, it seemed to help feeneys game not being the only outlet. Having danger down both wings made us look so more dangerous.

As daz Bob says, whole team played well and fought for everything tonight. It was refreshing to win 50/50's for a change.

Madine played well (he is still shit) i fear he only raised it due to his old club, I will hold my hands up if I'm wrong but his performance against Eastleigh and hudd will live long in my memory.

Felt trotter gave us a nice balance in the middle and at times gave pratley that chance to be the midfielder he has shown he can be. I fear pratley is running low on confidence.

Enjoyed it tonight. I just hope they can build on it sat. I know we lost but I'm becoming immune to it a bit now.

I'd go as far to say played well. They played well too. Was a good game that was end to end

Didn't go last night so can't comment on that but Sheff Weds were one of the better teams to come to our place this season, I thought we were very lucky to escape with a draw in that one.

 

If they moved the ball around anything like that last night then it was always going to be difficult

I'll carry on believing until it's mathematically impossible. Especially when there's only 6 points in it - potentially only 3 after we've played MK Dons.

Trotter, Madine and Wellington played quite well last night. We looked quite good both in defence and attack surprisingly. I'm not quite sure how that works considering we conceded three like.

 

God knows where Amos was going for their first. Being sat behind it, it really didn't swerve that much. Marc Iles I think it was mentioned he might have been unsighted on Twitter but if you can't see the ball you position yourself in the middle of your goal more often than not. He pretty much dived out the way of it in the end - went in more or less down the middle. 

 

Madine could've had another one, possibly 2. Silva was frustrating for the first 15 minutes, kept on losing it with misplaced passes and show pony tricks that wouldn't come off. Lost the ball for their first goal as well but after that he was great. Ran their right back ragged second half (who got subbed off if memory serves me correctly). Trotter played reasonably well as did Pratley and Vela. Pressed as a unit and covered each other well. Feeney got a lot of stick from the people around me, was the cause of some infighting by the sounds of things but he was doubled up on from the get go so couldn't have done much more. Slow to react to the run for their second though. Pratley also missed a sitter.

 

Defence - Holding solid again. Moxey pretty solid. Dervite still worries me. Both CBs did well against that lump Nuhiu. Could've been high foot for their third but Wheater got beat too easily and didn't play to the whistle. 

 

Clough didn't really do anything but didn't have chance to. Woolery had one decent run and about 5 touches in the four minutes he was on the pitch. I'd start him against Eastleigh personally. 

 

One gripe from last night was the timing of the subs. They score in the 77th minute and Clough didn't come on till the 84th minute. In the spell between I can't remember us making many decent, if any chances. Then Woolery in the 90th? Wellington looked fucked from 80 minutes, pretty much played left back for his last 5 minutes. You make those changes earlier, much earlier Neil. 

 

Fans were in good voice to say there was only 375 of us. Singing E I E I E I O when we scored the second made me chuckle. Speaking to a few Sheff Weds fans walking back to the car, they were saying worse teams have walked away with a point at their place this year so puts the performance into perspective a bit.

 

We're still shit though.

Holding doesn't have anything to do on the second one except stop the ball going across the box - he doesn't.

 

As for the third, I think Cameron Jerome is the only attacking player in a hundred years to be penalised for foot up in the area, so no complaints really.

Lennon's interview is odd.

Claims he couldn't pick mark Davies for two games, but doesn't know what's happening.

Am I missing something or is his job to know who is available? Whose telling him that Davies can't play?

Surely if he's not tying up a move then he's available? If the player himself just disappeared and said nowt, then perhaps we can save some dosh via the disciplinary process

Maybe he was told not to pick him because he's made of glass and an injury would be a disaster for us. Just guessing like.

Hmmmm, Clough was picked though, and he'd been to Bristol and back, and had a hip injury.

 

It would just be nice to know what is going on. It's as if NL is not actually a manager, but just a member of coaching staff.
