At one point the ball went out for a throw in to them. Before the ball boy could get it the lad ran off the pitch and got it himself. He got an ovation from the Manny Rd terrace. We've still got a team full of seasoned professionals, and 'fighting' should be the minimum from them. It would create a different mood.

Spearing wasn't wanted last season and has played this, we're just reusing poor players because the players who have been used haven't got results and we can't get new ones in, may aswell some try some youngsters, though making them associated with this mess could be unfair.

January 12, 201610 yr Just back. Best performance for a while (after the first 10mins) . Feeey was our main threat as per. Madine won every header but was the furthest forward and flicking to no one at times. We ain't dead just yet imo. Coywm
January 12, 201610 yr Just got back. Blackburn game aside, that was the best we've played in a long time. Lack of concentration at the back for their goals and certainly Amos has to be questioned on their first one. Madine could have had a hat trick but there again so could Hooper for Wednesday; difference was they took their chances just a little bit better than we did. Still not entirely sold on Silva as I don't have him down as the sort of character than we need around the place in terms of knuckling down and getting on with the job in hand, but we did look much better having him as an outlet on the left hand side rather than the usual plan A of everything going through Feeney. Substitutions have been odd for weeks, but it was the lack of them tonight, giving Clough only a few minutes and even less for Woolery. Carry on in the same vein on Saturday and we might get something out of them.
