In a time when we really should be pulling together, releasing a name like that, without the reasoning at the time, means people will be doing their own research & naturally react negatively.

How did the ST think people would react? Such news should be released in its entirety, not in dribs & drabs. Damage limitation. Shows no, or poor, process, thinking & decision making.

Indeed. See what pans out before making major judgements. Someone had to start this thing, if goes as it's supposed to then members can vote for people previously unconnected to the club.

That's if anyone wants to stand for election.

Massive unrest amongst fans may make this less likely.

Hope that satisfies a lot of doubters. There seems to be a lot of suspicion about which I suppose is understandable in the circumstances. At least the trust has been fairly quick in answering these questions. Perhaps this will encourage more trust in the trust.

I don't trust their judgement, I don't trust the Mike Smith character and would like them to muzzle the Manning character. Apart from that, all good.

One could say they were predictable answers from the predictable questions they've brought upon themselves by a lack of updates/dialogue.

 

I'm surprised they didn't think appointing this guy would ruffle a few feathers. FFS you only had to google him.

 

I'd prefer the ST to be seen as a separate entity from the club and they're not doing that just yet.

Not every Director of a Board is responsible for a failing company.

 

Equally, and especially in trusts/charities, it is vital you demonstrate you have a varied board with varied experiences and aims. If you were to set up an educational trust someone with his CV would be perfect. So linking this mon with Gartside and suggesting he's an insider could quite easily be cutting ones nose off to spite ones face.

 

And think about it...if you were taking over the running of a failing company, would you get rid of every board member knowing that doing so you lost some experience and understanding of both its running and failings?

Seen that Mike Smith in the dim and distant past might of been at the set up of lifeline, it was some fans event, maybe Casino can remember him? Pretty sure he was trying to organize a fan thing way back then. One thing for sure he's been around for a long time.

The statement said something along the lines of them struggling to cope with the volume of interest. The fact that the statement was put out so quickly is an improvement on the club's communications

I don't doubt that, I'm just wondering about his motives. I know CP said he won't be standing and the initial line was that the founders wouldn't be standing, this has now changed to "some" won't be standing. I think he's all about himself. That's the only reason I can find for spending a load of money to found a semi-profession BWFC website, rather than a 100% amateur job like this.

They said on the BN twitter q&a session that -
