How does it affect the main game .There's either somebody out there willing to buy the the club with enough money or there isn't. A few weeks ago I felt it would happen now I'm not so sure.Apathy might do for us if we are not prepared for the worst.

Maybe, but look at the list of supporter owned clubs. That's where we will be if we go down that route.

It's looking like we might not have much choice in the matter.

Unless someone like Simon Jordan steps in after admin.

The club is going into admin. Make no mistake. All this is just about what happens afterwards.

I guess that beggars can't be choosers. I think we're all well aware that the door isn't being beaten down by any prospective buyers at the minute, so we may have no choice but to follow the Portsmouth model. It will mean many years in the bottom divisions for sure, but that's better than the club just ceasing to exist surely

you seem very sure

i'll ask again, if youre so sure, why hasnt it already happened

maybe i'm a little damaged in the head but admin could be very interesting

especially as eddie/moonshift/fildraw is by far the largest non-pref creditor

What about a matching gifts programme from some of our better off board members?

I reckon that it won't go into administration and that people currently close to the club will pick it up at a good price. Just my guess, based on nothing apart from there is little news and there seems to be little panic around.

So the lunatics re-taking over the asylum.

cheaper than a pound!

i dont want to derail the thread but if we had managed to find a buyer in the last 18 months and granted we don't know the asking price in that period, but if we had found another head the ball willing to chuck his money away, ED/PG wouldnt be described as lunatics

ED in particular would still be looked on as the bloke who financed a few very good years to be a white

Funny!

It's the Ts & Cs that will be under negotiation, such as underwriting £15m (or whatever) to complete the season

It's the liabilities that have to be assumed as well in addition to financing the club's on-going losses.

For instance the £5m loan from Nucleus.

We've been in financial shite since the move to an out-of-town white elephant (that's a separate issue, of course) and the mishandling of the disposal of Burnden park (another story, too)

If we're considering "people currently close to the club"  as BD puts it. Aren't they already partly responsible for our current plight ie Jones & the Emerson Group etc?

i thought that was secured and all but due for repayment?

i dont claim to be itk, but i'm not sure the government changing planning laws was really our fault

especially when there seems to have been a reversal back to where we were in recent years

There was more to it, according to people on the periphery at the time.

Peter Jones (Emerson) stiffed Bolton Wanderers.

Correctly, Bolton wanderers allowed themselves to be stiffed

The Macron is not a white elephant, the crowds were shitter and the experience/atmosphere would have been shitter at Burnden times have changed folk have changed since we left Burnden. were still getting nigh on 15k for a team stranded at the bottom of the championship I would doubt that many would be beating a path down to Burnden in the same scenario.

Like I said, that's another story.
