February 19, 201610 yr help out a follow white (not me as i just wouldnt pay it and see them in court) a lass paid for parking at a pay and display. she put the ticket on her dashboard. when she came back, she had a parking fine. (Parking Awareness in blackpool is the company.) her ticket had blown over in the wind (i assume when closing the door), so the back was displayed, not the front. now, her (and my) take is that the ticket was not fit for purpose, as it didnt have a sticker to enable it to be fixed securely. she has appealed to the company, who said fuck off and process an appeal through https://www.theias.org/ who pretty much quoted the book and said fuck off also. but surely the ticket should of has a sticker to prevent such a problem occuring. thoughts?
February 19, 201610 yr Let them take her to court. She's got a ticket, that will have the time and date it was purchased. She needs to ask for all Parking Awareness' photographic evidence to be sent to her. The photos will need to be timestamped or they haven't got a case.

February 19, 201610 yr Not sure what the current rules are. Pretty sure they're not too far removed from when i was working at the council. Private companies could only claim loss of earnings so the cost of a full days parking on the car park, the cost of taking someone to court for that was far outweighed by what they'd get back. Only councils traffic wardens and the police could issue actual fines
February 19, 201610 yr Parking awarness Blackpool?? That's the twat feature that tried to do me. And are still trying now. I parked on a cafe forecourt in town to go and take my lad to watch fireworks last October or whenever it was. I had the owners full permission and left a big fuck off sign on my windscreen with the cafe owners name and phone number. They gave me a ticket anyway. The owner of cafe rang them the following Monday and told them I had permission and they said fine. Another fine came through two weeks later for £90. Cafe owner rang and said I had permission and they said fine. Another fine came a month later for £120. This has gone on till last week when I had a letter off a debt collection agency for an unpaid fine and the damage was now £220. In short, they are con artist wankers with about as much clout in court as Gary Madine on a football pitch. They are shysters that will try it on with anyone. Their offices are on king street and their windows have been put through that many times they've stopped replacing the glass now. Just a piece of plywood there now with the words scum spraypainted on the front. Id rather go to court than pay them a single penny.
February 19, 201610 yr In my non legal mind I would have thought it would be hard to argue She has to display that she had paid which by walking away from the car and without checking it was still on the dashboard would say she is at fault The wind blowing it off seems a shit excuse

Showing them a valid ticket should lead to an application of common sense. Hard not to sympathise with her. Remember, she's a woman. She did well to just get parked.
February 19, 201610 yr Shit does happen but at the same time she has to accept some responsibility Maybe it was because she was parked over two parking spaces and had only paid for one
February 19, 201610 yr Dad parked on Chorley flat iron (council owned and run so obviously very different circumstances), stuck his ticket to the windscreen but it was leathering it down so condensation must have built up or something meaning it came off and landed face down on the dash. I photocopied the ticket and wrote to them explaining what had happened and they quashed it no questions asked. Probably won't help with these shitbags but just shows that common sense should and often does prevail

Maybe Chorley council aren't as cuntish.

May 12, 201610 yr Is it pay and display car park? No display I don't think. Never really checked. I'll have to see if there's any signs up. Just dumped it and went for the train as hp was full.
