Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 16, 2016 Site Supporter Share Posted August 16, 2016 Said last year be worth a look at. Give him time to settle and might be on to something. Cook is no spring chicken now, hales should be at his peak but isn't consistent and we need to be looking long term for one if not two openers. Michael Vaughn reckons most batsmen should just move up a place which would mean Root opening. Not sure about that.

Moderators Casino Posted September 22, 2016 Moderators Share Posted September 22, 2016 If it doesn't rain, Hampshire beat Durham imo Lancs would need rain to secure a draw Otherwise they're down

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted September 25, 2016 Site Supporter Share Posted September 25, 2016 Anyone shed any light on why such a good start turned to shit? Seem to have changed the players as the season went on- injuries, form or falling out with players?

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted September 25, 2016 Site Supporter Share Posted September 25, 2016 Batting consistency has been a bit of a problem for a while, losing bowlers is one thing but quite often the tail waggging helped improve the score. As cricketers, is the standard of batting generally poor throughout the leagues and can it be improved?
Guest
Not sure what you're asking here tmgj. get runs on normal wickets instead of shite Amatuer bowlers on roads. Maybe.
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted September 26, 2016 Site Supporter Share Posted September 26, 2016 Looking a scores, seems that if a wicket or two is lost early then more seem to follow, maybe an over generalisation. Was wondering players being signed up from feeder clubs are just not as good at batting as they need to be, or is Lancashire not prepeparing them well enough? Croft this season been indifferent to say the least, proctor inconsistent etc. Am I overly concerned and younger players will improve in coming seasons? Just trying to understand why for a few years the batting seems to lack consistency; club have been a bit of a yoyo team.
