July 12, 201610 yr Pubs shut because of a perfect storm of greedy breweries inching the price of ale up, from avarice alone - more pubs shut, they still have to satisfy shareholders so the prices go up further...Wetherspoons are proof people still sup if the quality and price is right - walked past the Vulcan yesterday, parched, but knew should I nip in it'd probably be piss like John Smiths or Fosters and not much change from a fiver, so didn't bother...Add to this the fact most blokes with families will take one for the team and fuck the pub off, even if they dearly love supping, to give their families better holidays etc. Doesn't make them lesser men, arguably makes them better men. Blokes without kids who don't go (the pub) so their other half can be let loose in The Trafford Centre with the plastic and carte-blanche should be shot for treason, however. July 12, 201610 yr Pubs shut because of Mis management and failing to get with the times. A few old soaks in an afternoon isn't enough to run a viable business. It's easy to blame the big breweries for pubs shutting, but if it wasn't for them there'd be even less pubs left. There's plenty of self run country pubs keep going over this way because they serve decent food. These piss pot dives closing all over the shop deserve all they get. July 12, 201610 yr Don't often go to the pub cos they're usually full of cunts who i'd avoid at all other times so why would i go for a pint with them. There's no pubs within a 20 minute walk from my house. And those that used to be there I'd only been in on the odd occasion wanderers were on telly at an away game before I got sky. I'll go for a drink with my mates in Manchester or occasionally Bury but a trip to the local hest happened since my student days.
