July 18, 201610 yr Fucking dog's allergic to carpets. Do we have a wooden flooring fitter knocking about?
July 18, 201610 yr We had our wooden floors taken up last year and replaced with Karndean (http://www.karndean.com/en-gb/floors) - much prefer it over wood. Although I guess that's not helping you very much
July 18, 201610 yr Author Get rid of the dog. Simples My first dog cost me 60 quid and the only money he cost me was the single trip to the vets that he didnt come back from when he was pushing 20. This little fucker is costing me a small fucking fortune.

July 18, 201610 yr Help him more by looking after the dog for a month to see if the allergy clears up. No problem, I love dogs - I'll have to check with my brother though, as our bedsit in Halliwell is a bit small, and he might not approve of a dog sharing our space, and it might also kick off with the ferrets as well, which could be unpleaseant
July 18, 201610 yr Fucking dog's allergic to carpets. Do we have a wooden flooring fitter knocking about? Is that all carpets, or certain materials, eg wool? Or could it be something in the carpet, eg treatments, cleaning chemicals etc. I guess the vet knows best, but how do you go on with its bed/blankets that presumably you'll put on the floor?

Not sure, its definitely an allergic reaction and its primarily on her feet but also on her belly etc. She didnt have it in kennels and after a bit of research its apparently common if you breed 2 blue Staffys. Its normally dust mites which exist everywhere and theres not a great deal you can do about it. Vets just say its an allergy, what has changed. As she was living in a concrete pen then absolutely everything has changed. Our Peg has been mithering for wooden flooring for yonks anyway.
July 18, 201610 yr Ah I see! At least she'll give you a laugh whilst cornering at high speed across to floor.

July 18, 201610 yr Ah I see! At least she'll give you a laugh whilst cornering at high speed across to floor. My mutt sits on the bottom step of the stairs as she hates the laminate floor. It funny watching her try to sit as her arse slides across the floor and she falls over.
July 18, 201610 yr Kardean is a cheaper alternative to Amtico and not a great deal of difference in quality.
July 18, 201610 yr Crush a loratadine in her food once a day, week after switch it to cetirizine, then switch back, keep doing this... Forever. If the dog gets depressed due to being on lifelong medication - crush the occasional quarter of a 'diddly' in too.

Shes on cetirizine at the moment, its helping but like you say, its just sorting the symptoms rather than the problem.
July 18, 201610 yr Cut all its hooves off and replace them with wheels. Rivet a steel plate to its belly and you're good to go.
July 18, 201610 yr Whatever you do , don't buy cheap stuff. It's almost impossible to lay to a decent standard. There's a couple of ESLSC lads that may be able to help.
July 18, 201610 yr Got Karndean in the bathroom. You can piss all over it and wipe it easily with the wifes facecloth.
July 18, 201610 yr Karndean is pretty good stuff but floor needs to be pretty level Don't get laminate it's shit.Your dog will scatch it to fuck Within minutes and slide all over the place like bambie on ice Edited July 18, 201610 yr by 1969
