It was maybe a sideways move a decade ago but not anymore. They have incredible facilities, one of the wealthiest domestic owners in the country and in the championship. I'm sure they would be doubling or trebling his wages - as you say money talks. Edited January 31, 20233 yr by Stevowanderer

They do not strike me as a club on the up despite the wealth of the owners, it is possible we replace them in the championship next year, that is why I said a sideways move for his career, definitely would offer him much larger salary.

It’s mental how our fans view stuff at times. Aren’t our facilities portacabins?

If we're still in League one come the end of the season and they still want him he'll probably go £1m would be nice

Our facilities at Lostock are pretty decent compared to others at this level - but nothing compared to what we had under Big Sam with the cryo chambers etc. I can imagine that further down the line we will be looking at developing Lostock properly or if planning is an issue maybe finding another training base again.

January 31, 20233 yr When Peter Goes they’ll go the same way as us. His daughter doesn’t give a toss about the club and the funding will stop. They’ve still got a good few on 35k+ a week ironically a lot of their fanbase want Peter gone. They’ve no idea.. Edited January 31, 20233 yr by barrycowdrill

You could argue that about nearly any club and it obviously it happened to us with Eddie, Wigan with Whelan. Most owners drop out when they have to prioritise funding their other businesses or just run out of money. She makes £400m a year salary and is worth £12 billion... they are losing £26m a year. Drop in the ocean. Yes they could definitely be run better financially because £26m losses in the grand scheme of things is not sustainable but not sure she has a reason to back out. You never know though in football.

She'd have to be pretty cold to destroy the local community and her father's legacy like that. But I suppose you don't get to £12bn net worth without having to make tough decisions and upsetting a few people on the way.

January 31, 20233 yr She's already made plenty on the back of the community, and countless others like it. It may actually suit her business case overall to gently fund a reasonable level of seasonal loss.
