Nope. I’m just saying he changed his mind. Said we have to move on. On that I agree with him as I said last week. Some of these Tory candidates will surely say the same over the coming weeks about policies taken during Johnson’s tenure.

Yes that manifesto…. If they want to make major deviations and I understand it if they do then call an election and put it in front of the electorate.

Don’t say this often, but Mounts is 100% correct here

has he been specifically challenged on customs union

ie has he left it open that we can start being sensible

Sort of, and he is being very 'unsensible' about it. But I understand why he is doing it. Unfortunately, he has little choice. Madness.

nah

the manifesto got ripped up when covid arrived

in fact, if anybody reckons we should have a GE cos the manifesto is being ripped up, they shouldve said it 2 years ago

Lets have a GE.

See how much the public trust the new leader, whoever it is.

Everything's changed. Everything is shit. Let's start from scratch. Put all the cunts toe to toe.

Works for me.

Got to laugh

for me, given that BJ has made them a laughing stock, and it's been amsuing to watch, and I want it to continue to the next election, then if Dorries doesn't put herself forward, I want Liz Truss to get it, just for a laugh like

Bingo. They have been deviating from their manifesto constantly. We should have a GE because the Tories have been happily supporting an untrustworthy PM and only in the last week have they admitted it.

truss actually thinks shes competent - the new thatcher

johnson was a self serving cock who knew exactly what he was up to

Fair point.

given the current circumstances a cost of living, pandemic over, war on, Tory party that is like the last days of the Reich - now is probably a good time for a fresh start.

People can not have it both ways. We elect a party not a person, so Boris being fucked off is not a reason for election

Parties not delivering never has been.

Leveling up update no trains to Leeds from London since 13:30.

The trains out of London yesterday were diabolical.

By contrast, I noted that trains leaving the other stations around the capital heading south west/east were all running like clockwork.

We don't get levelled up, we get cattle-carted up.

Got to love theb Thameslink or actaully South Eastern. Train into town every 15 minutes throughout the day and runs until late.

London's transport networks are great - the buses are something else, never wait more than 2 minutes to go anywhere it seems!

London is amazing to get around (assuming no strikes). This weekend we criss-crossed the central area and barely waited longer than a minute for a tube anywhere.

This morning, 3 trains into Manchester from Preston between 7 and 8.30am were cancelled because the north.

Yeah, I've never had any reason to grumble, even out here in zone 4 and it seems to get better.

Last time I went to Manchester from Bolton we were on some sort of train bus with bench seats, and despite giving ourselves loads of time, almost missed the train to London due to one cancellation and then the train just stopping between deansgate for nearly half an hour.

If that was down here there would be a national media outcry.

Am I missing something on all these pledges from the contenders, surely they’ve got to run on the manifesto from the last election.

You'd have thought so.

Otherwise, where's the mandate.

Having said that manifestos and mandates have never bothered these fuckers.

I think as visitors the thing we do not get are the buses. They are so unreliable and shit up here do not get used. But whenever down there with folk who live there who can point us in right direction they are brilliant.
My whole point about levelling up us that in terms of infrastructure the north is so far behind it will never get close. Getting rid of tickets so you just swipe your smart card is great too.
Today coming back as LNER were cancelled you have to buy a new ticket to use Grand Central (I think) in London it is really well integrated.

I don't even use my smart card anymore - just waft my phone over it - no need to switch it on even.

Ultimately, COVID helped Johnson a lot, he'd have been found out far sooner otherwise.

I've made no secret of the fact that I'm usually a Tory voter as it suits me,so I'm glad that Johnson is going. It still surprises me that certain people wank themselves senseless over him because he's "eccentric"....... Just like Corbyn is/was

Sadly "Levelling up" will never happen, no matter who is in charge. The real money will always be kept in the South East

Levelling up is no different to the idea of the "Northern Powerhouse".

Exactly. Government by bullshit PR slogans. Means nowt.

Also, once the Red Wall goes back to being red again, they can stop pretending they give a shit.
