And levelling up was never a thing. Just a nice short slogan that fuckface could trot out if he didn't have a fridge to hide in.

See oven ready.

I hear Truss played a couple of blinders last night.

It's a pity Esco isn't around anymore to give his view on what she said about Sturgeon.

The relationship is destroyed before she is even in office. It is a ridiculous way to carry on and will end up with an independent Scotland.

Let them go if that’s what they want. Cut the apron strings and let them crack on. Most folk sick and tired of the SNP moaning in Westminer, it’ll be a blessed relief not to listen to Billy Bunter and his team of cranks.

Do you blame them? The Tories have been responsible for the inevitable break up of the UK. The new PM should be trying to offer an olive branch and instead she says ‘best if we ignore them’.

I would love to work out how the borders would work then.

I'm no fan of the SNP (or any nationalist parties for that matter) but what Truss said was just silly. This is the difference between a party that is currently adrift and making policy up daily, and one that is currently doing a huge amount of work on the question of devolution witht he current Constitutial Comission, which also aims to bringing more powers regionally as well and out of Westminister. Its aimed a tackling the issue with 'devolve and forget' or simply moving a few posts and departments around the country, but how people can have more say over their local affairs. By tackling this, you hopefully bring politics back into people's lives and start to steam one policy parties like the SNP.

You can't simply say piss off to Scotland, to start to take the wind out of the SNP's sails you need to offer a positive alternative with - yes, some greater controls for the scottish assembly - but also to bring the discussion away from devolution all the time so that people focus on the SNP's not very successful time in office. As ever we would all be worse off if Scotland left, and Scotland isn't one party or indeed, one person but we need to look as senisble policies not just reach for the easiest, headline grabbing nonsense without proper work and forethought.

TBF Scotland at the heart of the Union is the opposite of what Sturgeon wants so it is same as ignoring her.

Should be ok unless they stupidly take independence then lose it by joining the EU, therefore losing their raison d’etre.

Don’t think they meet EU entry requirements outside of the UK.

They'd have to set up their own Central Bank, and various other institutions, so it would take a while, but they'd get there eventually.

Given you have not explained properly how it would work UK/NI/Republic not sure I am convinced that you know how it work if you add another country in there that might or might not be an EU member.

It could be done, but it would probably take up to ten years.

Firstly, they'd have to sort out the seperation from the rest of the UK - and as we all can see untangling 47 years of a breaucratic partnership is difficult enough, nevermind 400-odd years. So that would be the first block, plus the issues with the boarder with England.

Then, they would have to hold a referendum (they say they won't need to, but the EU will probably insist as a protocol), There's then the question of the Euro - the EU will not be so keen on them keeping the pound, they will start life as a country with a larger deficit than the 3% needed by the EU, and that's before you start getting on with other countries wanting them in - Spain would be the biggest issue as they have their own devolution issues and won't be keen on setting a precident.

Its doable, but if the SNP try and convince people it'll be easy, they are peddling bullshit, as it won't be.

Oh yes, sorry. Quite forgot.

It'll probably could be done over a weekend. Change a few signs, knock down Balmoral, put up some cones along Hadrian's Wall, remove the royal from the Royal Bank of Scotland and bob's yer uncle in you go.

Truss says Sturgeon's an attention seeker...

I dont have to explain it properly, thats the government job and they are saying a red lane green lane is what they propose.

Surely you'd want a more detailed explanation before supporting it though?
