What they actually are doing speaks louder than what they say they are going to do I always find😀

I prefer hard facts and figures and as I stated earlier 50million (uk spending) is greater than 40 million (eu spending)

Bloody nora.

Has Mounts borrowed Bolty's irony-o-meter?

That is what the government say they are going to do. The UKSPF replacement fund set up by the government has so far pledged 50% less than what the EU delivered. They are the facts.

Wales will receive £772 million less in the proposed UKSPF replacement fund. Is anyone surprised though apart from Mounts?

Its hardly surprising when the EU still funding projects and the funding hasn't fully been transferred to the UK government, lets see where we are when the UK government take control.  Seems like more poor journalism to me.

I'm sure some sectors will receive the same or more funding, and some sectors will receive less - obviously we need to see, as and when we stop getting any EU funding who the winners and losers will be.

I know fishing where hoping to get more......good luck with that 🙂

So far are the operative words.

Cold hard facts is what you like isn’t it? The government has pledged much less than the EU delivered. Wales, NI and Scotland used to be net beneficiaries but no longer will be.

So not yet a fact then, Mounts?

Why would it be now when the European fund is still in operation and the government will switch over to UKSPF fund as the EU fund tails off.

The UK government have pledged more just that more is going to other areas than the above, there are always 2 sides to a story here is the other alternative view regarding wales funding form EU.

Just saying. You're the one that wants to deal only in cold, hard facts.

The article is from October 2021 so hardly current and charities that help blind people or those with learning disabilities are hardly vanity projects. These are the ones threatened with closure or scaling down on the good work they do. Very sad situation.

These vanity projects were decided by the EU, perhaps our government feels they can spend the money better and have pledged to spend the same or more than the EU. If they fail to do that then it is a wonderful opportunity for the labour party to make hay over claims that never materialised, that would play a massive part in the next election debate. And that is exactly what I voted for, returning power to our electorate.

Many have already stopped receiving EU funds as it was a staggered process. Some will be funded until the end of this year but many are now having to close as the replacement funds are not there or much reduced.

The government might think that other projects/funding are more important, if the overall spend remains the same or as they have stated more and the government have assessed who gets what in a fair and even manner based on need then so be it, and yes it is sad if some good causes get less but we are not living in a utopian world.

Really? Bloody hell🙈😀 Wales is £772 million down on EU funds it used to receive.  The most vulnerable people are the ones who will suffer and you are talking as if there is some grand plan on more deserving projects. What other projects?😀

There are some Tory peers who have taken millions of public money. Perhaps Wales has paid the price and that is considered a more deserving cause. After all, it’s only some blind folk in Merthyr.
