So, now even the government knows Brexit is a pile of old toast, what else can I get bothered about....

1) Ah the classic gender debate - drag queens in classrooms! It's the end of civilisation - I tell thee! Bring back section 28!

2) Deportation - out, out and out....and then out again.

Honestly, I swear some folk just wander round looking for things to be bothered by that have actually very little impact on their lives.

Here is something far more important to get triggered about. There are loads of charities and community projects throughout the UK that have lost funding since we left the EU. The money is not being matched even remotely close from the government and we are going to lose these valuable organisations. Now that is worth the mail getting its knickers in a twist about so I’ll wait for their in depth report🤔

Not only that the UK government in that article reiterated they'll match funding EU, the EU funding ends 31st March so they are still funding it, the ESF funding was 40 million, and 14 million from Stormont, UK government state this in the last paragraph.

As EU projects come to an end, funding from UKSPF will increase, reaching over £50m for Northern Ireland in 2023-24 and £74m in 2024-25, to spread opportunity, help local businesses and improve pride in place."

 

When I went to school 50 million was bigger than 40 million. I think the BBC need to dig into the detail and if what the government say is not true then write and article based on the facts rather than hearsay.

Ultimately, I prefer the UK to divi up money (thats what I voted for) rather than us sending money to the EU and send back 25% less than we sent them in the first place.

As for the BBC it is no wonder folk want the licence fee reducing or removing, the standard of journalism is utter shite. 

Anyone who believes this government will match EU funding is not really paying attention to their track record.

It is there in black and white... if they don't deliver then I am sure Kier can address any false claims at PMQ or during the run up to the next election.   In your case you would be better reading the full article than skimming the headlines.

Its hardly surprising when the EU still funding projects and the funding hasn't fully been transferred to the UK government, lets see where we are when the UK government take control.  Seems like more poor journalism to me.
