For what it's worth, it looks like Farage might've had his account closed because of who he is rather than because of concerns over the source of his wealth:

The bank think he’s a cunt and don’t want cunts as customers.

Welcome to the free world.

You lost. Get over it.

You cunt.

Farage is running rings round Coutts.

He can say whatever he wants and quote any section of what they have sent him and they can hardly respond without pissing all over customer confidentiality.

He has got in early that balance was below the threshold for the account and that has become a by line for the headlines, almost irrelevant.

Based on what has been published so far and is in the public arena ..

1 His balance dropped below minimum threshold

2 Either as a result of this OR because of his views (genuinely not sure which) his account was reviewed

3 In that review comments have been made that I imagine the bank regrets. As they apppear to be opinion rather than facts.

4 I imagine the review when based on balance would be, 'his balance is below minimum , but should we let it slide ?' Unlike most high street banks Coutts will apply a decent amount of discretion/flexibility in the rules. They clearly decided to dump him. This is where they are on dodgy ground especially from a PR view as it would seem clear that his views have been a factor in the deduction.

The big unknown is what has not been disclosed. There might be nothing. There might be other information he is choosing not disclose. Why should he ? The story is going to run and run but if there is nothing else Coutts from the segments provided could be in trouble.

The other factor is going to why the other banks also turned him down. It would seem unlikely they all just decided they did not like him, they all have much bigger cunts as customers. However once you had banking services denied/cancelled it could well be that this in itself becomes a reason that other banks use to reject someone. ( a bit like you if have a bad credit marker you might be auto rejected for credit )

It'd be bad news for quite a few of us if "not being a cunt" became a criteria for opening a bank account 🙂

Bank closes account but gives option of immediate replacement bank account in bank account changing shocker.

Who gives a fuck.  He is just bothered his debit or credit card had natwest rather than coutts printed on it. If you think that's stupid you wouldn't belive the rest of it.

Christ, when will people realise how the press works.

This is a 'news' piece based on the Telegraph's opinion piece from Farage.

It's a pull quote piece from one of their own feature writers.

Forget political learning at GCSE level, we now need media training.

I’m not over concerned what Lloyds think of my politics.

He banked with Coutts. He can have no complaints that an elitist establishment has been, well, elitist.

It will only run with some, it's not even a story really.

It's something to keep him in the public eye, it's perfect for him.

This flame will only keep burning for a few on here and those who think Fabricant is a decent MP.

I'm sure there's plenty that hasn't yet been revealed but - again for what it's worth - it seems Farage's bank balance hadn't fallen below the minimum threshold

You know what he needs to do?

He needs to move on.

Whats done is done.

It is what it is.

Yawn.

There really isn't. Unless you're on his payroll, I'd probably stop being a mouthpiece.

Unless you really like him, he does have nice tweed jackets

Repetitional as a starter.

Funny how he reveals how many times the word "Russia" appears in the document, but only explains a single instance of the context in which it is used...

Also, in the written tweet he says "Brexit" appears 86 times and "Russia" appears 144 times, but in the accompanying video he says they only appear 30 times and 22 times respectively. How odd. It's almost like he's a compulsive bullshitter. 🤔

Who is he talking to?

Is he planning to fleece some poor old bugger out of her life savings

Well, one thing that certainly appears to be the case is that his political views seemed to play some role in the decision to close his account:

Read my earlier post on that. On the specific of the account balance pretty clear the balance was down.

Farage also commented more and more of his money goes through a business account so the current account is used less.

Pubs ban folk all the time for being cunts.

There are other pubs.

His band of simpering foot soldiers are swallowing it whole.

for the millionth time, Coutts can choose who to have as a customer and that’s their business. If they refused me because they didn’t like my shoes, then that’s up to them.

Farage instigated us leaving the EU. He should be applauding the single mindedness and sovereign decision made by Coutts.

The cunt.

Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't

I've no time for him but he seems to be somewhat vindicated on his claim the closing of his account had something to do with his publicly stated views

Have the bank committed a crime?
