Fine, I’ll leave you to continue to choose doom and gloom.

But you see it from your perspective.

For so many people, the struggle is real and an investment company telling them their 3 year bonds are in good shape Wont always pay this months gas bill.

Youre in a good place, and that’s brill. But, millions aren’t, and distant positive news about something that has no impact on them is unlikely to bring any cheer.

Indeed. The least well off in society have been affected disproportionately by high energy costs, food inflation, mortgage rises, etc.  These are also the same people who cannot get an NHS dentist and have seen community centres and youth clubs closed due to reduced funding (a direct impact of austerity policies and brexit). Positive news on 3 year bonds will not make any difference to them.

More foreign workers including bricklayers and roofers are being allowed into the country – to the fury of Tory MPs who want to limit immigration.

The Home Office has relaxed rules to make it easier for construction companies to recruit staff from overseas.

It added bricklayers, roofers, tilers, carpenters, joiners and plasterers to the Shortage Occupation List.

This means workers with those much-needed skills can come to the UK without having to be paid the usual going rate and also get a discount on their visa application fee. Migrants with skills on the list who have a job offer from a UK sponsor can get a cheaper visa and be paid just under £21,000 a year compared to the usual threshold of £26,200.

Relaxing of VISA requirements......slowly, slowly creeping back to freedom of movement

I thought we were supposed to be training our own to do these jobs, to ensure we have a high skilled, high waged society.....not just bringing in cheap foreign labour

Dont think anyone is slitting their wrists mate and most I see are just cracking on with stuff.

Things have just got a lot more difficult for a lot of people.

Not all Brexits fault but by Christ it hasn't helped.

That amuses me, folks are cracking and achieving good things, all the while being negative about the economic/political environment!

Good luck to all.

Good luck to all.

Folk are cracking on

Of course they are.

The point is that the same effort is not producing the same return as it once did. People have less spare money. You don’t see this because you’re set on a personal level, and not facing the same difficulties as millions of people around you.

Again, it’s perspective.

Im mean this with the greatest of respect because I think you’re a great bloke, but the economy is not in good shape. It may look it from your investments, but you’re not in the same position of millions of others, so it’s an inaccurate reflection of the state of play. The majority of people are struggling to move on. They’re just surviving. And in a supposed leading economy, that’s shit.

People have less money for the same amount of work.

It’s a bit like me getting rather aloof because there are no potholes in my area.

Every fucker in the next postcode is complaining that the potholes there are horrific and it’s damaging their cars, but I never drive in that postcode so the problem can’t be that bad.

Im trying desperately hard to avoid the phrase “I’m alright, Jack” but it’s getting difficult.

It's not a problem to Mr Diver.

'Cost of living isn't affecting me, so not sure why folk are moaning'

'Just a bit of hot weather in Europe is all'

Quite the week he's having. Think he's been on the Chianti for breakfast?

Worldwide obviously, but brexit hasnt helped the situation in any way shape or form.

You know this though.

So looking at the problems around the world and at home, which ones would we have avoided if we had stayed in the EU?

Not many, but our economy would be undeniably stronger and better equipped to deal with the current global shitstorm.

Sure you cant deny brexit has had a negative impact on our economy?

Can I ask, who is not 'cracking on'?

Being aware of the facts, and dealing in reality isn't being an 'remoaner' it isn't doing this country down.

It's just dealing with what is. And it wasn't as good as before.

There you go, simples.
