Interesting with ULEZ, it seems to be a real issue with those who just hate Khan and won't vote for him anyway in blue tory heartlands (like Bromley, someone on the local FB groups is selling Say No To ULEZ gingerbread men christmas tree decs - bonkers) its becoming more of an extreme position now that folk have realised 95% of people don't have to do anything (and to be honest for the past three years no one was selling a second hand car without ULEZ compliant as a main selling point)

Also, lots of people are concerned about air quality, and hammering the point makes you look anti-green and anti-family when it's a concern for those who live near main roads for their little ones.

Basically, yes it'll cost some votes but the majority of these wouldn't be voting Labour anyway so it'd only make a difference if it was a close or maginal contest, which it doesn't appear to be.

Also, who came up with Safer with Susan? Fucking hell...

Aye

If anyone has a non ULEZ compliant car it's either because it's on its last legs and they need a new one anyway or they don't drive it very much so no big issue

Those saying it'll hit the poorest hardest seem to be from pretty affluent areas

The only people I've heard going on about it in the pub say, are older people sat in million pound plus houses, retired and have range rovers or those 4x4 jaguars in white seem very popular.

There's a few on our local facebook group, again all have decent cars but are saying they are trying to stick up for the poorest. The poorest in London don't have cars, they don't even take the tube - they're the ones on buses.

Although, it has pissed my Dad off as he has a desiel so he's going to have to pay 11 quid a day when he comes down to visit at Christmas. But as those in Bolton don't get a vote on the mayor I don't think its a huge concern!

Miami will be fuming, as Khan currently seems more popular than ever :)

To be fair, it was almost certainly the reason the Tories won the Uxbridge and South Ruislip by election

The article in the Standard which quoted the poll ratings also noted that Khan has a pretty poor approval rating at the moment. I recall 30% thought he was doing a good job and 46% thought he wasn’t, so he has a -16 approval rating.

However, people have indicated they will vote for him, presumably because he is better than the alternatives.

I don't think he is that popular and he's been there a while but as you say, the Tories appear to have given up on it with their candidate and as a party are really unpopular at the moment. I actually think they were going to give it a decent go given how long he's been in post.

I think they'd given up on it at the last election when they put Shaun Bailey forward

I dunno...

Didn't he end up gaining a higher vote share than expected?

I remember it being quite close at one stage

Indeed, sad as it seems, in modern day politics, it seems that all you actually have to do, is not appear as bad as your competition

Starmer wiped his boots all over Braverman and Sunak at PMQs today. Glad to see them both being held to account.

What the fuck is wrong with Braverman?

Your obsession with her is getting worrying now. It’s every day. Is It because she’s a brown woman in a powerful position

She's an evil cunt, regardless of her colour.

What are your views on her?

Suella Braverman is fucking grotesque.

Another one that makes the current Tory party unelectable.

Ive trodden in massive dollops of dog shit that are more appealing.
