There's certainly a lot of law abiding citizens in here who earn every single bit of their wages and never swing the lead, claim a few expenses here or there or spend their work time on here :)

You seem very defensive of tax fiddlers/avoiders/evaders? 🤔

I'm defensive over small busines owners and sole traders that get tarred with the same brush as smack head window cleaners in Atherton or odd job plumbers fixing leaks.

Folk think it's easy street but it's anything but.

Of course there's gazillions folk doing cash jobs all over the gaff. There's equally gazillions of folk screwing their employers too.

After going limited a few years ago I pay more with corporation tax than I would in a normal job with the same level of income.

Turkish barbers probably have similar feelings.

Is that because things have changed generally ? Because every job we have done at our house involves some cash being used.

Or is it because you have sold your soul and gone all corporate ?

My houses are predominantly bank payments now. Nobody has cash anymore.

All my contracts now use auditing platforms/portals now as well.

In the old days you'd give each pub a receipt and they'd pay you out of the till. Then it went to invoice.

Now you're on a portal Linked direct to their audits.

Greene king use concur, M&B use events etc.

All FM firms now use similar.

Cash is no longer king :(

My mates who own the businesses, like you, are paid via bank transfer and pay their way tax wise, lads who work for them get paid cash, it is up to them if they declare it and pay tax/stamp, it's been the same since I was on the windows in 1976 - 1987. As far as I am aware non of them would employ anyone dodgy, even for a day
