If you’re fleeing a war that could kill you any day and you’re homeless, then you’ll be more than happy with a roof over your head, safety and food.

Why do they need anything more?

What else do you think they get?

I think it’s a bit sad that someone’s fled home and perhaps lost everything, yet your concern is they have been given too much on arrival. It’s almost like you’ve bought the narrative.

They’ve apparently risked their lives getting to France yet they’re going to risk their lives again (whilst paying 1000s for the privilege) just so they can be somewhere that speaks English 🙄

Sort of grafters we need. Swashbuckling madmen😂

Meanwhile “our Nige, man of the people” has apparently been avoiding some tax on his GB news salary.  As more of this stuff inevitably comes out about him it’ll be interesting to see how his Reform base (cult) reacts. Will they adopt the MAGA blinkers and forgive their dear leader, or will they be outraged as is usually the norm for any party when we see one rule for one, one for the other. Interesting times.

Of course they fucking will.

You know it is - that’s why I used the word avoid not evade. As you also know it’s the optics though - it’s usually a problem for “ordinary folk” when they feel that millionaires (of any political persuasion) are not paying their fair share.

As Farage and Reform get closer to number 10 then the media will quite rightly scrutinise them more and more, as they do with all leaders and parties.

As I say interesting times to see what the electorate will make of this, and whether current Reform voters will have second thoughts.  I hope so.

Why when he’s not doing anything wrong? It’s a little different when you have a working class Rochdale woman who says she’s representing the working classes yet blatantly takes the piss. And I reckon Farage has probably been scrutinised more than most MPs here the years.

@Bertie Told you.

I suspect there'll be a lot more coming out about Farage and his dodgy finances. There's a reason he's already said he'll never release his tax returns as "they're irrelevant", yet he wants everyone to pay great attention to those of other MP's.

Yes let’s use MAGA as an example when we’ve just had Labour supporters backing the deputy PM for actually doing wrong. Not the brightest are you

And what about those who haven’t fled a war?

Tice has an interesting tale to tell, too

They get sent back if their Asylum claim is deemed illegitimate. You wouldn't know it from reading/watching the news, but they do. Because we've actually started processing them again, instead of leaving them to fester in order to create an issue that can be used in an election campaign.

He would do neither of those things.

The boats cannot and will not ever be stopped, unless the French do it. Once they get to that North Coast of France, they're coming here, like it or not.

And let's be honest, your recent record of calling people out for being "ace" isn't really that great, maybe it'll be 4th time lucky though I suppose

Well I didn't include you.

The only thing stopping or delaying him would be interference from the HOL. With a sizeable political mandate his next step should then be a purge in there as well as with the judiciary.

Indeed, and anybody who thinks Farage will be any different is probably a bit daft.

 Moi? How very dare you?

He'll be a very needed dose of salts.

You are all clearly uneasy with the rise of Reform or you wouldn't be bleating about them day in, day out.

Years away yet unless there's a collapse of huge proportions. Just keep quietly building and let the current incumbents dig ever deeper.

Agreed... a hotel in England is a step up from a shanty tent on a Calais beach shitting in the bushes.

What gets me is how BBC and C4 can track down the smugglers and get them on camera but our own Government cannot... we have people used to operating behind enemy lines but they commit "illegal" actions by the nature of their work, and we prosecute them when they return from the likes of Afghanistan

Oh ye of little faith. The Starmtroopers are coming for the gangs. They won't know what's hit 'em :rolleyes2:

They'll try to throw up any scrap of shit they can. Same tactics as the Democrats in the US and the normal modus operandi of the left.

They haven't learned anything from what they have seen. In voters eyes it will only strengthen him.

They must be encouraged to redouble their efforts.

That’s a different question. You specifically commented on those that had left war.

There we go then.

Cheese thinks they all get sent back the day their application is refused.

Cheese doesn’t realise many decide to get lost in the system.

Cheese is a bit simple.
