I'm sorry to wade back into this thread but 1 in 1 out isnt what you are painting it is. And it isnt a farce.

Again, I get legislation is dull. But this is a clear new regulatory principle which will ensure quicker processing both for illegal migrants and those seeking genuine asylum and will - because of cross European agreements - cost us, the UK taxpayer a lot less and be more effective.

I despair that people dont look at these things properly. But such is the current situation.

Fuckin hell 😂

I have been out so there fuck all chance of me wading through 3 pages of nonsense.

But

if anyone has outlined a reasonable way to stop the boats then I’ll gladly concede.

As Miami says.

I’ll wait.

It’s gone quiet.

Expected that.

Easy to criticise.

Difficult to lay your neck on the block with an actual solution isn’t it lads?

not angry, just disappointed

Hmmm.

This Welsh thing seems a new thing. Interesting.

Which points, and I'm genuinely interested, do you take issue with?

No it’s not. You will see that many of your posts don’t make sense. Kind of like the Welsh language (unless you’re Welsh)

We want.....erm.....something back.

Was having a chat earlier with the Dad of one of daughter's friends (he was wearing a Trump tshirt) lovely bloke - doing our garage as well - but deary me his whole thing was simple politics and that he doesnt like Muslims.

Now, East Kent has a huge issue between haves and have nots. It has a problem with housing, it has a massive issue with jobs for those who dont earn their money in London - ie between those who have degrees and those who do not.

But there isnt any Muslims here, in fact there isnt any ethnic diversity at all, except for the Uni students. People from East Kent are are warm and as lovely as Northerners, but immigration isnt the issue, like back home, the issue is lack of jobs and young people either nor getting them or leaving the area to find them and never coming back until they have the cash to buy the bigger homes and put their kids into the state grammar single sex grammar schools.

The fishing boats that were freed up by Brexit could catch them in their nets?

Farage is a fucking genius

He loves trying to poke the fact im a Labour party member. Doesn't have the balls to support a political party with money.

My party membership at the moment is the party in government.

He can nash his teeth all he wants, he'll always be on the sidelines because being a cynical dick is easy, trying to post a colour to the mast is difficult and takes a certain level of understanding he lacks.

Plus, hes got to pass the hours.

Probably.

I met a real lefty once.
I’ve met many people in my life with all political persuasions but this guy was the real deal.

He was a draughtsman at Hicks so on a pretty good wage. He chose not to own a house and lived in a council property. He also chose not to own a car or anything materialistic. He had a beard and corduroy trousers and a cardigan. (Stereotype) He came to work on a bike in the summer and the bus in winter.
When I was the union rep for the technical section of the AUEW, I tried to negotiate flexible working and discounted private healthcare for my fellow workers. He was not happy and gave me a lecture using his pointed finger to emphasise his point. I was totally against everything he stood for and at the same time totally respected his principled views.
I’ve never met a lefty since that wasn’t a hypocrite.

This bloke sounds remarkably like a bloke I worked with at Walmsleys mate. He wasn't called Vic by any chance? There, he was to union rep for AUEW-TASS.

..and you really believe that Starmer, Reeves and Rayner are/were?

This is what they rely on. Blind faith.

Please tell him it is 'gnash' FFS. I expect the self appointed site illuminati to be accurate in these things.

Banter and vitriol aside, what’s clear from the last two pages is that no one has a clue how to “stop the boats”. Me included.  It’s easy to slag off the Tories Rwanda scheme, or roll eyes at Starmer’s one-in-one-out but there really isn’t as easy answer or else someone would have done it?

The Big Issue sadly from which everything else flows.

Whoever can propose a credible plan that will work will win the next election. Will probably get my vote as well.

Nigel knows, he's going to deploy the Navy (by the way, he'd never do that, not in a million years) but he knows that there are enough people who believe he will

Exactly.  But he’s got the benefit of never being in power before. That’s why I used the word “credible”. Someone needs to offer a plan that’s equally/more convincing than his (in the eyes of Joe Public) and one that actually stands a cat in hells chance of working.

Nah. This bloke was called Trevor. I think Corbyn modelled himself on him.
