Freezer fine fridge not going cold. Any fixes or fridge mechanics?

Is it still making a slight noise; ie pump/motor working?

 

Not an expert but I doubt a balloon would do the business.

It is making a noise but I think that will be the Freezer?

Take it upstairs, leave it on the landing for a few minutes while you have a breather then throw it down the stairs.

Might be saying the obvious, but it sometimes gets inadvertently turned down.

Wrap all your stuff in tin foil.

Have you checked to see if the fridge light goes out when you close the door?

Do you have any fridge magnets from hot countries that might be causing it to heat up?

I had this exact same thing on mine last year. Freezer was fine, but fridge compartment was almost warm. Turned out the vent that allows cold air into the fridge from the freezer was blocked with ice. This is a so-called.'frost free' fridge freezer too.

Anyway, emptied it, switched it off, then left it to defrost for 48 hours (obviously a load of towels on the floor to soak up the water).

Switched it back on, and it was good as new.

 

Edit: just saw your post worthy - it's even the same model as yours!

Pretty much a gonner then..

 

Needs a Hotpoint approved engineer to come out and plug in a computer, tell you the thermostat has gone.. (if it's running but not getting cold)..

 

If its making a clicking sound even worse..

Had exactly the same last year, Hotpoint too.

Turn it off turn it back on again, always worth a try

Ours went faulty a while back, spent a fortune getting it repaired and it still was not right so ended up getting a new one.
