Season Tickets

Wife has decided she hasn't the stomach for a relegation fight and wants rid of her season ticket. As it's me whose account the direct debit comes from I'm not really insisting she sticks it out.

Is it as simple as stopping her portion of the DD or are there things in place to stop this happening?

I'm under the impression the DD is a credit agreement enabling the club to get the full purchase price up front..

Stopping the DD is tantamount to a failed loan repayment and should go on your credit file.

If you paid up front in full and then asked for a refund 5 games in because "it's not very good", I'd expect them to tell you to fuck off.

This is correct. The club will have sold the season ticket debt on effectively so it will be owned by a third party who make a % off the ticket price so highly unlikely you will see anything but debt collection letters if you cancel the d/d

If you contact the club, and they agree to it and accept the ticket back then and only then cancel the DD.

tell her to stop being a prat

The payee on my DD is Bolton Wanderers, not a credit company

id be very surprised if its actually as it seems

have you got a copy of the credit agreement?

i buy travel insurance through insureandgo, and their name appears on the statement, but my understanding is that insureandgo are just brokers

Maybe, but of you're paying to a given company, you're agreement is with them.

Think debts can be sold to collection agencies who bang on costs, but that's another matter.

I too pay to bwfc.

Corporate are doing a deal where (In the Hall of Fame lounge as an example) you can get two corporate tickets for any 5 matches of your choice for £700. If I have one spare over the season I shall post on here, you'll just have to dress semi posh :)

I did that in the comfy seats behind the dugouts as a guest of Rainham Steel. A shot glass with soup in accompanied by three croutons on the side plate followed by 5 chips and a postage stamp size piece of beef isn't my kind of posh nosh.

Can totally understand her frustration, but you will risk your credit score suffering if you stop payment.

She's like many who feel trapped because they have already paid up and so are almost obliged to go, irrespective of the dross on offer.

Got an email saying I have £9.65 Wanderers cash to spend

Anyone used it?

Just a case of buying something? Flashing season ticket and get 9.65 off?

yes, just that

How much have you been buying to get that much?! Mrs has got £1.65 and I've not even had an email, so presumably I've earned fuck all from my annual investment of £5 when they're flogging shirts at the end of the season.

I've never presented my card so unless it's throughbuying away match tickets, it's got me beat

My mail says 9 quid ish

Looks like interest free is off the cards now going off the half season tickets.
