If VAR was made by Uriah Rennie I'd support it.

  • Do you reckon we can we get them to look at the over the line incident from the opening game at the reebok?

The game has had the life took out of it already no tackling hardly any contact I’m from the old school , a good man and ball was as good as a good goal

Or not

Var and city are 2 up

Can’t help but think the officials are over-thinking stuff.

Tbf, if he is offside I have him in the keepers view so disallowing it is fine

Problem is getting the offside bit wrong :)

Which var could have dealt with easily

Problem is they'd have spent 5 minutes on the in line bit

That was a red

Can they check that with var

I think if he sends him off they’ll look to double check, but that’s all. I think.

They should just get referees who can do the job properly.

Right or wrong the game should carry on. None of this pissing about referring. Even with the VAR miscarriage of justice will still happen. And it will still take too long.

AVAR.

And is that Port vale? :D

Agree; in a way it was good to see a lino take a view that someone is in the keepers view, and not bottle it.

And is that Port vale? :D

:D

Not sure what that last bit means! :)

I set up a faceache account yonks back but done nowt with it since. Can't be arsed and will probably delete it.

When it was first rolled out, it was said that it would stop players arguing with the ref, though even after the decision it still happens

FA also said they were being 'clever' having let other countries trial it before adopting it. Yet when it gets criticised they say it is still a trail so not sure what they have learnt from others

In short, its shite

e

That says more about lack of player discipline than VAR.

That says more about lack of player discipline than VAR.

It says more about piss weak referees. The laws on dissent are clear, they just need applying.

I agree, but the culture of the game has to change otherwise it will 9 a side every week.

Which would change the culture of the game.

They have been trying for years with different initiatives and we still see dissent.

The managers are worse than the players.

Do you think it would stop if they booked the players involved?

Yes if it was applied consistently and supported by powers in the game.

It will be messy at first but for VAR to be introduced effectively they will have to implement a zero policy on dissent.

Let's hope it happens.

I agree entirely.

Discipline in rugby with regard to the ref is far better. Its a different game but still physical and testosterone filled.

They book players for taking their shirt off in celebrating a goal, but players still do it

Unfortunately some won't learn

If refs were miked up, the FA would have to act re: dissent as they'd get pilloried for the poor example set to kids.
