Watching the Stuttgart Vs Cologne match on BT. Ref has had to use the VAR on a penalty decision late in the game. He ended up reversing his decision and not awarding the pen to Cologne. Took nearly 4 mins from the original penalty to the drop ball. Even then there was still a debate to be had that it was a penalty. This will suck then life out if the game, and the terraces, if this is how it's going to be.

Not a VAR issue but Cardiff got shafted last night, they scored but then ref pulled it back to an incident outside the box and gave a free kick, to Cardiff

He had blown his whistle before they scored, as the cardiff player was indicating as if he had a head injury.

Encroachment was the first offence

I don't think this ref is playing the "First Offence" rules otherwise it wouldn't have been a penalty in the first place.

Well I can actually see where they're coming from

 

If you decide advantage is being played and the defender still continues fouling in the box then why not a penalty

Part of the issue is that every other sport using VAR actually shows it in the stadium and then has the referee announcing the decision and reason. That Spurs v Rochdale game created more VAR talking points than it answered.
