Bolton v Roverrrrs

Wigan really did us over by stealing Robinson. Especially annoying as he'd improved so much over the season with us last year.

Until we get a defence with some pace in we won't be able to play decent football as the gap between either defence and midfield or midfield and attack is too big. Look at the high line Blackburn were able to hold by comparison, nullifying Ozthumer in the process.

Still, we're improving since last year, still compete and have some more quality. Williams is a good player at this level too.

What gets me is I didn't see the flag until ages after the decision

Did it go up straight away?

Well in, week out we are getting done by these twats

We are not good enough to beat another team and the officials

It was offside, if Doidge wasn't offside the defender wouldn't need to challenge him. Didn't lose because of the officials today and I don't think we do week in, week out either

Bad do that. Really thought we'd have got a goal. Kick in the nads getting the pen overturned but it was offside.

Oztumer is too one footed and a dwarf. Too many times we got a cross in the box and it was to the oompa loompah rather than the 6ft macgennis.

Hobbs (or whoever the centre back is) looked alright today.

Grounds is wank. Stop picking him please!

Robinson can’t defend to save his life, Wigan welcome to him.  Despite me being critical of Grounds he’s not fully wound up yet so might be more to come from him.

As our only fit left back Parky hasn't much choice unless he plays one of Little or Pav out of position.

I'd rather he put a right footer who can defend at left back than a left footer who can't.

The same was said of Alonso.

Robinson won't get close to his levels but is much better than Taylor and Grounds

We were poor throughout and they didn't need to do much to beat us.  Grounds was shit for goal and should have fouled them early on.  Few huffs and puffs first half, but next to nothing second half.

agree they weren't great, but didn't need to be.

This 100%

There is a slow dawning realisation that we will seriously struggle again. We have had a few surprising result, but each week it stares us in the face. If we had Sack tonight, we win. All too often we will be wishing we had opposition players and that isn't sustainable.

Did you honestly rate Ricardo as a left back? He was ok going forward but poor defender. Take the roses off

Relative to the 3 you mentioned he was a superstar

Candela over his career might have been great but for us he was slow and very average. Burke not in the same league. Whitlow was a decent defender granted but a very limited footballer

I really didn’t see the attraction with Ricardo. Only relative to the division but I honestly thought Burke was better for the cause. That said, it’s like saying John Thomas was better to the cause than Owen Coyle.
