do we owe blumarble any money?

its  a really simple question with an equally simple answer

and while you answer that, i dont believe bwfc owe moonshift 5 million

uncle ken owes moonshift 5 millioin

Pretty much the same thing really except Ken negotiated a million quid reduction in the interest charges and persuaded Eddie to help out yet again. But there's been a lot of confusing debt with deficit and they are not the same thing at all.

BWFC hit the buffers in 2016 not because of the debt but because of the operating deficit. Make a note to never rely on the Beeno for financial analysis or comment.

FFS, long and short of it is he's taken on a club in disarray, cleared what he could, and got it into a position where somebody else has found it a good deal. It's taken upsetting folk, sailing very close to the wind, and being very thrifty, but he has been successful in doing what was necessary to keep the club afloat.

I'm not saying I'm condoning his methods, or that he'll be fondly remembered- but he has taken on a sinking ship, and it just might tread water

So where does this leave the ST?

So ken hasn’t removed the debt, Eddie has.

Back to playing football manager

But because Ken has lowered the costs/ outgoings he has managed to remove some of the debt.

My understanding is the debt will only be removed when the sale goes through and will come out of the proceeds of the sale. None of the outstanding debt has been settled, the blue marble debt has just been shifted sideways, thanks to Eddie.

Not true technically mounts. If ken renegotiated the total owed to blue marble into a new loan at a reduced amount then he has effectively reduced our debt via refinance. So he’s done well albeit undoubtedly pulled on The heart strings of ED and his affection for the club before he passed away

How about the debts we owed to that American marketing firm who sold the naming rights for the ground. Significantly reduced that. (If you believe Ken)

The renegotiated contracts with heathcotes where we no longer get stung. (If you believe Ken)

How about developing a sales plan for utilising the stadium for non football events, bringing in extra money to the club to pay ongoing costs

the blumarble loan, which was always the biggest issue has been removed

its not even up for debate

or, at least, it shouldnt be  :)

It’s not been removed yet and even if it was are you really giving Ken the credit not Eddie?

Lets say the deal fell through and Ken has to borrow the 5 million to pay back moonshift, do you think he might borrow it against the club? Or personally?

BWFC do not owe any money to BluMarble.

I'm not sure I can simplify it any more than that Mounts

Nope your right Ken owes it to moonshift, see above post, that scenario could happen. The debt is still a debt and we won’t be guaranteed free of it until the sale goes through. I’ll say it again Anderson has not cleared any debt.

I think you’re at risk of trivialising Ken’s involvement here Mounts when you keep saying all thanks to Eddie

not unintentionally either...

I’m very happy Ken took us over kept us in business and used his knowledge to play the system, and hopefully he’s found us a decent owner so we have to be thankful for that. However much more of Ken and we’d be heading further into the mire, attendance and satisfaction with the club is close to an all time low, results and style of play is woeful and for the first time in my lifetime it’s a chore watching the team I love. Forgive me for not joining the ken Anderson love in that seems many on here feel.

I'd say it's more of balanced, objective view. Football is shit, folk aren't happy, and it is a symptom of the shit we're in... But this isn't about whether left twix is better than right twix. Ken has kept us full with a handful of Celebrations- We've not had to touch the own brand smart price shite... And that's thanks to him. I'd love one of Eddie's selection boxes, but it ain't happening...

Some folk are not always right, but they'll begrudge admitting they're wrong

Yes he has about £170m when he bought the club for a pound

if you want a debt free club then don’t hold out much hope on this deal either

get your head out of che Guevaras arse and the supporters trust spell you’ve slept walked into ffs

If this deal goes through and ken gets his £3-£5m then he’s played a blinder entrepreneurs deserve big returns because they take big risks and can see opportunity where others see nowt.

anyone with half a brain would give him credit and gratitude without him remember bwfc doesn’t exist

If we were halfway up the league Sweaty would never have got so much grief irrespective of his brinkmanship.

I’ve fuck all to do with supporters trust. All my views are my own, unlike many on here who just regurgitate each other’s bollocks.

BWFC doesn’t exist without Ken utter tripe. I have given him credit perhaps you’ve not read my post properly. I’ll wait until the deal goes through and accounts show the true picture before I blow smoke up kens arse.

What’s he done wrong saw an opportunity to buy a football club on the cheap and flip it ASAP knowing full well he’d have to do it by the seat of his pants at times - brinksmanship is not illegal. So this deal gets done mission accomplished?

Oh and in the meantime got us back in the championship.
