Greatest Bolton goal scored at the Reebok/Macron/Unibol

With it being 40 years since Franky Worthys super goal , what is the best Bolton goal everyone has seen at the newer ground.

My favourite was Eidur's solo goal against Wimbledon in the League cup , i think there were only about 7/8000 on that night but I was glad to witness it in the flesh.

Per Frandsen v Middlesborough May 2003 My favourite has to be Jay Jays v West Ham in the same season. When i look back to what we used to have, it breaks my heart to see what we've become.

ALF’s screamer the other year, was it against Fulham?

Anelka’s v Arsenal and Stelios v Norwich were phenomenal strikes

I remember a long range stunner from Frandsen v Birmingham (I think) 98-99 which swerved like fuck but I’ve never seen a replay of it so it may not be as good as I remember?

and obviously Jay Jay v WHU and the Villa free kick

there was also Spurs (4-2) and unlucky not to win away at Everton - Blackburn and the Holden goal was around that time too

there's only so far you can go on enthusiasm though, look at Utd

Was that the game that Chungy stopped the ball going out for an Everton throw and Everton nicked the ball and scored?

Gudni n Barnsley

Another deserving of mention. Campo's daisy cutter v Liverpool

Was it not Spurs, Micky?

I remember watching it in a bar in Ibiza with my lad, beer went flying off the table when I jumped up!

Great hit. Still maintain Robinson should’ve had it. He was nowhere near.

I think that was the game when Howard scored, so I don't think it was

Liam Trotter v Walsall.

Chris Eagles last minute winner against Blackburn was superb. Not exactly a great goal, just the fact it was pretty much the last kick of the game and against that lot. The place went mental.

The best has to be Okocha's second free kick against Villa though.

The game in the enjoyable phase was when chungy fucked around and Beckford equalised in injury time

Howard scored when we beat them 2-1 in the relegation season

Don't know. Probably. I searched YouTube for Campo goal v Liverpool and this came up first so I assumed; maybe incorrectly. Same applies though, great goal.

Jimmy Maldini scored a cracker against Palace

Luca Modric volley from 30 yards, North Stand end

Hitzlesperger blasted a couple in didn't he?

I remember that Alex Rae one someone mentioned earlier it was thunderous.

Shearer scored a free kick from miles out in that 4-3 on boxing Day too, was sat right behind the angle of that and it was going in the second he hit it.

No it was Walsall. Oztumer scored from about 35 yards for Walsall in the same game.

Mark Kennedy for city rings a bell

Only goal when they beat us when they only had the lower tier because the hotel was being built. Might have even cut inside on to his weaker foot but not 100%.

Jay Jay versus West Ham. Probably. In terms of importance and sheer quality.

Looking back - that run in was something else. Both us and West Ham hit top 6 form and it was a bit like a title race. It had loads of coverage in the media (cos West Ham and Roeders illness) and was just thrill a minute high octane stuff. It was probably the most exciting run-in as a Bolton fan I can remember where everything was constantly on a knife edge right up to the end and we were the central players in the biggest football story in the country at that time.

And the media didn't get the ending they wanted at the end. Amazing final day.

Amazing penultimate day too. Remember listening to West Ham beat Chelsea at Southampton then being unable to watch a lot of our game that day. It was sheer torture as we ground out a nail-biting 0-0. Had we lost - it would have been out of our hands. The character of that team was superb.
