Bridcutt entitled to be a bit rusty today, will probably be better for the game. Murphy suddenly tried to become Crawford and had a great game, was just a bit odd how, with what you'd class as three holding players in the middle we were poor without the ball at times and let a poor side in far too often.

Anyhow, after a Titanic Iceberg Pale, moving onto an Ilkley Brewery Mary Jane session pale from Booths brilliant selection

Who plays instead of Murphy, then?

Just felt like we needed more width and natural attackers.  Any of Politic (if on form, and he's not at the moment), Verlinden or Buckley when available.  There's an argument for or against all of them, but playing 3 defensive, central midfielders all together isnt ideal.  Long term I'd love Politic to be in the Mark Davies role behind the strikers but we need to see some improvement first.

Verlinden will go back to them so their new manager can take a look at him but I wouldn't be astonished if he was sent back to us. He's clearly talented and changed it for us today but he still needs to learn to use his raw ability more effectively before he can expect to get in their first team regularly. He will get there, probably very quickly, but he might be better off playing here for another few months.

Apologies, it was a shit attempt at making a joke about you mispelling Chicksen as chicken.

Wasn't the worst joke ever on here. Certainly raised a smile, though not a belly laugh.

Dodoo one side with Verlinden on the other has to be the way forward.

O'Grady grafts but is a terrible footballer

Biscuit and the injured Scottish guy are far better than Lowe and Murphy combo

Agree 100%.

Yeah them 3 up top didn’t work today, static and kept going for the same ball, with no real pace.

Joint leading scorer O'Grady!!

I’d of took Murphy of not OGrady today, thought Murphy was poor despite scoring the winner.

Not if he's fucked

Think my point is, it's not hills fault we were shite

But with our limited options. I think verlinden has to start

Think he meant when fit.

Verlinden is a great impact sub - it’s a difficult one as to do you start with him and take him off, or bring him on when they are tiring ?

🍻

thought we had Spewed that today. Our right back is ace, great signing marauding all game.

COYWM roll on accy.

Maybe mounts, but it's irrelevant if he's not

Hill has to send a team out based on what he's got

Not what he would like to have available

Edited by Casino

Hill has done tremendously well shaping what he has got into a competitive team. Injuries have hurt us and Crawford is a big miss but Bridcutt is better than todays performance  and is a welcome boost. Yes we are short on quality and even tho today was probably our worst at home in league under Hill at least we got 3 points in end. Chicksen motm for me with honourable mention to Verlinden for his cameo. Their keeper was their best player impressed with him and not surprised when he saved pen.

Exactly as I saw it, was crying out at time for width on both wings, Dodoo should have been given another 15 - 20 mins, if one of O'Grady or Murphy had to be sacrificed it would have been Murphy as things were at that time. In the end good for Murphy that he scored but he wasn't offering much in that first hour

Aye, I've always been results over performance but it really was awful

And our crossing when we did put something together...dreadful

Anyway, I've forgotten about it now

We need to keep someone closer to the opposite flank from where the crosses are coming because most went over every fucker today.

Legging it to goad the away fans isn't very becoming at my age

But that dick did deserve it and definitely couldn't take it

When white cagoule guy ran to fence to goad us, I may have discussed with an older guy on my row along the lines of,  "How old is yon knob in white? It's time he fucking grew up!"

Then when we're scored we're both went across the yellow steps goading in response. Like being 20 again!

Oh, wanky-wanky. Wanky-wanky-wanky-wanky wanderers!

3 League wins in a row, first time in 3 years, well done.

Don’t think it helps that, after years of playing centrally, O’Grady probably has a natural tendency to assume someone is coming in behind him. I do think Murphy (D) has pretty poor anticipation on this front though judging by how many times he ends up underneath a cross instead of running in to the header and getting over the top of the ball.

Ogrady was better upfront with Murphy.

Not sure why we’ve now stuck him out on the wing.

equally we have certainly started going more route 1 over the last few games.

Not all the time but we aren’t passing it about as much as we used to.

needs must perhaps

How long did it take for you to get there

Can't agree.  We're in Div 1, he's fine for this level, better technique and control than I expected and he knows where the back of the net is.  Seems ideal for our situation, and assuming we're in Div 2 next season one we can expect to take with us and help us get back.
