but please do not attend this appointment. Due to covid restrictions we aren’t conducting appointments. Somebody from the department will contact you by telephone in the next few weeks to discuss.

if you no longer want this appointment please let us know so we can allocate it to someone else!!!!!!!!

Can you go private?

She’s being looked at by 3/4 different departments. We send her private it’s going to cost tens of thousands I imagine?  This isn’t even the most important one it’s just a mess. A total mess. She’s been taken in by ambulance twice. First time sent home after couple of usual tests and second time were going to send her home. Til we asked the doctor In Charge to  get her to stand up. She did and collapsed. He said ah I see we will get her a bed. Kept her in overnight and sent her home next day

it’s just a farce

I've gone private for some consultations and treatments and used NHS for others, for the same condition, with the same specialist. I'm no expert but I know you can mix and match both of them and it speeds it up . When I've wanted to find out stuff quickly, or get to the operation stage faster ive gone private initially  then got the specialist to book the operation on the NHS.Consultations are £100 - £200 ish, obviously you can pay loads more for procedures. Might be totally different in this climate, but its worked for me in the past.

Everyone has choices

My wife had a telephone consultation last week with the consultant she is under at Wrightington hospital, his conclusion was that she needs more surgery on her leg. Baffled how he worked that out from a telephone conversation.

My op was cancelled day before surgery on March 23rd, got call last week from hospital to ask if I wanted to under go surgery 9th July, snapped there hand off, went for pre op last week, all good to go for the 9th, hoping and praying it don’t get cancelled again.

Whichever cunt wrote that wants twatting. Doctor or admin. Doesn't matter which as it is clearly an example of ineptitude, laziness, etc.

Contact her MP, maybe sent a copy!

Might just be the automatic systems they have in place?

I've just sorted a telephone appointment for physio (aye, how that'll work feck knows).

Hospital rang me to say I've an appointment on the 15th. But then said we can fit you in on the 5th. So agreed on that. She then said I'll now send a letter saying your appointment is on the 15th, but ignore it because your appointment is actually on the 5th. God know why

Maybe a degree in English Language isn’t a prerequisite for being a medical administrator.

I read it as,  (and perhaps it ought to have been written better)

Dear Escobarp’s Mother,

Unfortunately, and due to the Covid19 pandemic, all our forthcoming appointments will routinely take place remotely by telephone. From this call, the doctor/surgeon will make a decision on how best to further treat you.

You have been allotted a telephone consultancy at <insert time and date>. If this is unsuitable, please advise us immediately in order that a more suitable appointment can be made.

yours, etc.

Don't need a degree in English to write a basic letter.

Well actually her partner rang the hospital today to find out what was going on. The upshot is there is no appointment. Despite the letter stating there was but not to attend.

there is no booked in phone call slot either but over the next few weeks somebody will call my mum to discuss the matter. When is this happening was asked? Answer. Within 8 weeks.
why did you send a letter clearly stating appointment 15th July? Answer - it’s just what we have been told to do. Sorry I can’t tell you anymore than that.

What a mess. Seriously what a mess.

It's a disgrace, there should be no deaths.

Possibly because Covid has taken quite a lot of the elderly who would have been going at the usual rate.

Its like Harold Shipman running out of clients.

Fuck these silly pub regulations off tomorrow

This came up the other day and does make some sense- but assumes that these old folk would have past away within 2 or 3 months anyway, which seems a bit unlikely.

In time I think other things like pollution related deaths will have been found to have reduced during the pandemic as air quality improved.

Be quite an interesting study, and may provide some thought provoking opportunities for society and governments in the future.

Not released a death total today.

bit odd
