Double tap ? This is dark science.

That makes it 5 taps each.

I still remember trying to explain the concept of double click to my dad over the phone. It was like I was speaking Swahili

3 taps and a hold actually. I judge a hold to be equivalent to 2.1 taps so that is 5.1.

All subjective. Technically it’s still a tap 😁

Assuming everybody uses a phrase for the same reason isn’t overly simplistic?

Probably. So is parroting a dictionary definition. Life is much more nuanced than that

Who’s used a dictionary?

Does anyone seriously think the bollocks:fact ratio is better on YouTube & Facebook than it is in your average newspaper/TV news report?

No you have to go to Twitter for fully balanced reporting. Do not trust journalists or experts.

BTW this is the most Sunday morning thread in Wways history. People need to start drinking and taking drugs again.

So if someone says ‘why aren’t the BBC reporting this?’ It’s ok? It’s not the question but the term MSM that makes them an idiot?

MSM is used to distinguish between social media (SM) and the main media organisations (MMO)

Sorry for starting my sentence with so.

No, if someone says why are t the BBC reporting this, implying some sort of establishment conspiracy then they are also an Idiot IMO

I don’t believe in conspiracy theories, I’m also not one of these anti establishment lot either

The BBC News do a very good job, Laura Kunnesberg needed protection at the Labour Confrence as Corbyn’s lot from the left wanted to lynch her. Likewise the BBC news pissed of Cummings and the right. That indicates to me that they are getting things about right for my money

Not seen anything on any MSM outlet but there’s some conspiracy going round on SM that the MP’s won’t be going back to work on Tuesday but will be sending kids back to school.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned on here yet but a few lads who thought they had a bad case of Columbian flu last week have all tested positive after a session in the Bottom Bull (Bury rd)

Yep, mentioned it a few pages back, one is my nephew and he’s now given it to his missus and baby.

Last count, there were nearly 30 from the Bull with CV

Makes sense. Mick has already made a bet on it.

Anyway, universities under scrutiny now. New version of glandular fever on the way?

Saw a report on the news earlier. (MSM) Universities don’t what to be the new care home scandal.
The most ridiculous statement I’ve heard in a long time.

Absolutely. Heard that comment myself and thought the same.

So, you are right; need to wait for a place and time which will give us a wider view

Had a look at their numbers

A spike for them is 323 cases, they had 1k plus at the height

At their peak they had 9 deaths in one day, this second wave has seen 5

Fair to say that whilst they are on top of it there's a chance it can come back

If we go back to 30-50% it won't be fun

MSM - Main stream media.

I'm gonna carry on using it, only 3 letters and quicker to type, bit like the BBC or CBA (Can't be arsed). Nothing hip about it, I think some people are over thinking it.

This with bells on. Its a relatively new term as far as I can see, in response to the advent of social media as a means of differentiation.

One of the issues I have with msm, is the influence of sm over it, which is at times detrimental to it.

Presumably all supping in the bottom bull.

Suppose that's the issue when numbers are relatively small, one limited outbreak bumps them right up.

Fair point forgot about that
