Site Supporter MickyD Posted April 2, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted April 2, 2020 I remember Alan Thompson putting Kinkldze down the hill onto the cinders in the first five minutes of a game v City and he just didn't want to know after that. Take Hunt Off
A large hole appeared in the pitch at the Lever End side during one season .It was probably early - mid seventies .This spawned many jokes about useless players disappearing down it.There was a serious on going problem with subsidence all around the ground hence the excessive piling that went on in the Normid build. Father in law used to do maintenance on the ground in the close season .He told me that he had seen several Manny road stand stanchions swing in fresh air following subsidence. miamiwhite
Yes, Caldwell, thanks chaps. This looks like a pre season match, I'm guessing Blackburn, but their badge looks different https://harry-mcguire.pixelrights.com/albums/9WpwAb/bwfc-nostalgia Skip that, it takes you back to the beginning. On another pic, it has Peter Thompson with John Thomas, Julian Darby and one I don't recognise, any ideas who it is ? It's not bringing the names up for me. MancWanderer
Great pics on there. I was amazed to see seats in The Lever End when Frankie was playing. Was convinced that they went in much later than that
