being a spreadsheet nerd, when I calculated last years beer spend I broke it down into months to track it all and do graphs and stuff

anyway, ended up tracking this year to

so far, year on year comparisons:

Jan: +26%

Feb: -7.5%

Mar: -32%

April and May were the big ones last year (and December, obvs)

there's no way I'll be spending as much as last year in those months

then again though, with lockdown easing and pub gardens re-opening, might end up spending more

reined school night drinking right in

if I spend about the same in April and May as I did in March, YoY it will be:

April: -47%

May: -52%

I must've drank every day in April/May, easy

They used to be top dogs in the inner craft world till they "sold out" to Heineken

Always amuses me when the hardcore sneer at such acts when they'd all do it themselves if the offer came in

There's a great craft brewery in NZ called Panhead, did the same, sold out to Lion. Consolation is when you go in a Lion bar, they usually have Panhead on draught.

So what time’s the first one today lads and lasses? 11.30 I think 🍺

After 84 days dry, had my first booze of the year last night. Bottle of Kirin, bottle of Pravha (both in the Keo offer at Morrisons, cheers @MickyD) and four double vodka Sprites. Woke up at 6am with a pounding head and a mouth drier than Ghandi’s flip flop. Hoping it’s a pre season training kind of reaction and I’ll be on top form for Good Friday.

Probably, no, definitely will be due to all E numbers and additives in the Sprite having a diuretic effect.

Have a few man-sized swigs of the vodka to rehydrate about fifteen minutes before kick-off, you'll be right as rain.

Dancing on the ceiling?

it’s decent in its own right but not close to Rivvy

Thats the one

Its too bitter for a neipa, imo

But it did follow the blood machine which is ridulously soft

Black edge are decent enough, but do seem to produce tangier types

On the one hand I said I was reining in the school night drinking

On the other 14 cans and a pint glass just got delivered from Rivvy and my phone reckons its 22 degrees outside

Just had a BrewDog Mallow Laser Quest, tasted of nowt to me.

Also just opened a Feb 2018 red made with Horwich grown grapes that I'm too scared to drink more than a mouthful of tonight.

Some words just don’t seem to belong in the same sentence!

Symptoms of Corona?

Christ, don't jinx me Micky.

Horwich grapes had good colour, nice and clear, alcohol was nice and rounded after 3 years in the bottle but there was a bit of a smell of dust so it must have oxidised (can't have been corked because it didn't have one).

A waste of £how much?

Next to nowt, some sugar from a bulk bag that was on offer and a sachet of yeast.

I've always found the pleasure is in the making and then years later pouring it away while have summat shop bought.
