Most underrated players.

There's a piece in the BEN about BWFC most underrated players.

Agree with a few, Branny

Simon Charlton

Roy Greaves etc , and even agree about Henrik Pedersson.

But would like to add a mainly forgotten face from a dark time where he was consistently the best player on the pitch in a White shirt.

Brian Borrows.

Went on to play for years at the top level without really ever grabbing the glory.

He fucking did as well and he was superb for us, quality player but for some reason a fair amout of our fans thought different.

Correct and what did he cost 3.5m fuck all then

we have some strange fans, Nolan pratley & Taylor just to name a few who got underserved shit

I remember David Lee getting some in his later days, crazy

I trump you all with the classic... 'fuckin' ell Djorkaeff you lazy bastard! '.. Wonder what that prick makes of today's lot.

Possibly.

I remember Stelios getting shit but he was good in my book. Never forget playing Derby at home in January and it felt colder than Belgrade, shite shite 0-0 game and Stelios popped up at the end for the winner

It's a good indication that you've got a gobbin when they're shouting at a player for being "lazy"( I remember Anelka getting it in his early days ) , "you don't know what you're doing " at the manager or booing short corners ," get it in the box ".

The only time i went in the centre of WSL behind the benches was during the abuse of Nolan & the stupidity there was off the scale as they tried to outdo each other in their loud criticism of Nolan, even blaming him for other players' mistakes.

Late to the thread so might have already been mentioned. Mike Whitlow, top pro and one that went under the radar. The sort of player every team neads.

Doesn't that make Matt Taylor Bolton's  2nd most expensive midfield signing after Muamba?  he is nowhere near the 2nd best midfielder Bolton have signed.Paid too much for what we got in my opinion

Under rated Bolton players - Marcus Alonso

3.5 for an experienced premiership player was nothing back then, plus money paid doesn’t rank a player

He was a good pro and worked hard

a year later we paid over 4 for zat Knight does that make him Bolton’s 2nd best defender after gary Cahill

No it was a young player. He got a bad injury as well.

Earlier

One who did a decent job for us was Florent Laville

And we sold Taylor for 1.5m, good business, he did well for us but never recovered after he got ill, can't remember what with though

Think it was glandular fever

Agreed, Laville was class. Such a shame we didn't get to see more games from him - he only played 15 times for us..

That's the one, definitely felt like he lost his level of performance after that

I wouldn't say he was underrated though.

He just didn't play many games, maybe even over rated, ace that first season, less so second before he got injured, though it was early on in the season

Somebody mentioned farrelly

Wasn't a fan but then there was that televised game v Watford

Head and shoulders our best player that day

And close to motm in the play off final

So yeah, agreed
