Not sure about that. Bigger few hits but I'd argue Magazine were much more influential. 

I mean just ask Johnny Greenwood out of that there Radiohead, totally influenced his playing and sound.

His knee was completely on his neck with his boot off the ground, 91lbs of weight on his neck, while he was trying to push him self up to get breathe.

People should listen to the Americast episode on it, its really balanced and a very good overview.

I think the next cop down with his knee on Floyd's chest is every bit as guilty of preventing respiration. As was already identified,  the fact Floyd could speak identified an airway.

There we'll have to disagree. Buzzcocks did have imitators but Magazine really influenced bands way beyond just punk. Went into New Wave, indie and bands like TV on the Radio and a lot of the early 2000s alternative more angular rock.

I'd probably say Wire were more influential than both though.

Said that from the start, the man who sat on him would have done as much damage as the man kneeling on his neck. 

Not a case of how much damage any other officer did, the fact they didn't stop him from killing Floyd makes them all culpable IMO
