February 25, 20215 yr I “won” the chance to spend the day at a new timeshare set up whilst on honeymoon in Mallorca. Young lad was handing out game cards similar to the ones BWFC used to sell with drawings of fruit machines, etc. He wasn’t quite quick enough to prevent me seeing that wife’s card came off the top, mine off the bottom of his stack. 🔔🔔🔔 on my card says winner, winner, chicken dinner! Whisked off in a taxi to see the place, given the hard sell, taken to see the very impressive set up, free drinks... and then the push. The guy wouldn’t take no for an answer. He left us alone while he “checked things with his manager” which, judging by his next move, actually meant listening in on me and wife talking about how much we could/couldn’t afford. Eventually he ‘got’ that we were never signing on any dotted line so fucked us off so he could go and nab another unsuspecting victim.

Had a great lunch and a few glasses a of fizz.......then it started. A proper hard sell, I knew it was coming, but they were very persistant. I kept telling them I wasn't interested, and then started playing on my phone, they gave up handed me my £50 shopping voucher, and we left. In the pub across the road, we got speaking to another couple that we'd see in there, who had signed up to a week away in Tenerife, where they would be shown one of the complexes and given the final hard sell for the full amount iIm guessing. They told us they do it ever three or four years, and it's a way of getting a really cheap week away in luxury accommodation, although they did say you have to navigate a half day of hard sell, that could verge on hostile.
