Some twat on change.org has got a petition up to change the name of the club from Bolton Wanderers to Horwich United, just because the ground is nearer to Horwich than Bolton.

As wind-ups go this is a pretty good one, local rivals being mischievous perhaps? 

We’ve been in Horwich since 97 and it wasn’t funny then 

As pisstakes go its a bit lame. It's also a bit sad that someone has gone to the effort in setting it up.

What would happen to Manchester United the only games they plain Manchester were at Maine Rd when OT got bombed. 

Horwich is in Bolton.

Same as Beswick is in Manchester.

To be fair they used to play at the Velodrome car park before they moved to Stretford (not Salford).

Well Horwich councilors are after moving 'Horwich' into Chorley, so that would actually mean that no pro footy team would be in Bolton at all....

Not a chance,Horwich is 6 miles from Chorley, but borders Bolton town boundary.

It's in Lostock. I just checked an OS map and everything

aye, according to this, the ground is in Lostock/Bolton, middlebrook is in horwich

I reckon they adjusted the border when they built the ground to ensure the ground was still in Bolton, as I doubt it would have cut through like that when it was all green fields
