I agree with you UK prisons are probably too soft (although to add I’ve not seen first hand!)…..but at the end of the day they are for convicted criminals who have been tried and found guilty by a fair and independent judiciary system.

Like I said - they've not released any details - so nobody knows.

He might be Hamas. He might not.

But even if he was Hamas and HAD been behaving in a way which is prohibited by the Geneva convention. The answer wouldn't be for a democratic nation to behave in the same way.

I hold Israel to a higher moral standard than I would somebody from a terrorist organisation.

And I think things like the Geneva convention are what is supposed to separate US (Western liberal democracies) from THEM (terrorists).
