I don't mind Anderson bowling when he's keeping things tight, so long as others can attack.

I don't understand Stokes going neither- no way can his preparation be so good, and a tour that doesn't seem to have enthused some players is hardly going to help his mood and capabilities. 

Glutton for punishment staying up in hope for better. This next hour could see the Aussies retaining the Ashes. If we don’t take 2 or 3 wickets then it’s game over.

First time this series I’ve been glad I’ve stayed up. Good bowling so far. Think I’ll stay awake to lunch now. Anderson should have more, he’s beating the bat so much. I know the Aussies have been far better this series, but bloody hell how many times do they play and miss!

It’s Ian Chappell isn’t it? It’s hard to give him credit for the odd decent thing he says, as he’s so anti-English it’s unreal. On England’s most successful session of the series he still didn’t give any credit, he carried on with his tirade. Would love it if we get another couple of wickets, I might even tune back in after lunch to see what he has to say. 

Get into a decent position and another abject performance from the top order means all that work is undone. Pathetic. Too many not good enough in this form of the game and under prepared

Well that was just dire, significant changes needed! 

Only Root, Anderson and maybe Malan are in the same league as this Aussie team and Jimmy is 39! They can make as many changes as they want, we don’t have anything to match them.

If anything, there's been too many changes

We will go to the windies and do well

Then we will have a good summer...but until we get a couple of reliable openers, we have a problem

It's gone on too long

They make 267 and win by an innings. That's shite. 

The only surprise about an innings defeat was how few runs the Aussies actually needed.

Bairstow, Burns, Buttler, Crawley, Hameed, Stokes & Pope have a combined 418 runs at an average of 14.4.

Only 4 players have scored over 100 runs in the series and aside from Jimmy's overall 7-99, the bowling hasn't rally been good enough either. @Boby Brno is correct, only Root, Anderson and Malan can hold their heads up right now.

But Silverwood says our catching has been good, so it's all fine.

Touring anywhere you will be up against it from the start. But even taking that in to consideration what we have seen dished up has been unacceptable. Its not as though we didn't know where are frailties were (Openers an general stick-about-ability). The thing that grates me more is that the Aussie aren't even a great team. They are certainly not a 3-0 team at this stage. And there's an argument to be had that their build-up to the series was worst than ours.  The contest has gone so any upturn in our performance will be vertically irrelevant.

We will do ok in English conditions in the summer (Nothing special)

It will all be forgotten and the ECB will move onto more of the hundred and other box ticking shit 👍
