It's the fact she made a point of saying "with immediate effect" she really is an absolutely massive cunt. No wonder everybody round here wants her gone

Apparently she hasn't held a surgery for over 3 years.

Fortunately she isn't my MP, mine is Richard Fuller (North East Beds) - she's Mid Beds, anyway she gets a right slagging off in most of the local newspapers on a regular basis. You're right, she's not held a surgery for knocking on 3 years, which is pretty disgraceful. She's about to make an official complaint to the election watchdog against Flitwick Council for the letter that they sent out the other day, as apparently somebody on that Council (Gareth Mackey) is primed to stand as the Conservative candidate once she goes. She, allegedly, have the audacity to demand his resignation 🙂  -  she's great isn't she

Her seat, was a massively safe one, winning 60% of the votes (with a majority of nearly 25,000) in 2019. It'll be no surprise if Labour turn that over and take it next time, as there is talk the Lib Dems won't contest it.....

If she stood at the next election I could see the Tories losing it as all the constituents are pissed off with her

Even though they were pissed off when she went off to the jungle, they still voted her, and I thought it was only labour voters who were that thick

But if she does resign and there's a by election with a new Tory candidate, would there be such a swing?

I doubt it.

As things stand, I think if she stays in the seat until the next GE, then they'll lose it. If she leaves with immediate effect, and there is a by-election, then The Conservatives will win that, and retain the seat at the next GE.

She's just being a cunt though, and she's ultimately not bothered who wins the seat at the next GE, in fact it looks, from the outside, as though she's doing all that she can to damage the party that she's a member of

Probably in revenge for them turning on Johnson

The fact simply not even trying to do the job is not a sackable offence for an MP is bizarre.

without a doubt, coupled with her being denied a seat in the Lords, that Johnson put her forward for

Given they earn £80k is it a year, you'd think there would be a contract with terms and conditions

Or maybe they've just relied on people doing the decent thing so didn't think it necessary

It's because she's the person (in theory) the constituents have chosen to represent her

As a result, they're the only ones who can recall her and then call a by-election

She should obviously have the whip remover by the Tory party but they won't do that because they don't want to give her any more publicity

Nadine Dorries has now officially taken longer to resign than Liz Truss's entire term as Prime Minister.

Will the CEO of this bank be left swinging from the rafters?

No.

It seems ridiculous that banks won't hold accounts for political parties and other organisations- seems like they're copping out- but there are clear differences between cases, as you can clearly identify.

Won't stop a bit of shit stirring though eh!

Too many hiding behind PEPs etc and as both she and Farage have said, it must change.

How would they recall her ?

Sure there must be some local busy body who would do this ?

Via a petition initiated via the local elecoral officer

Although I think actually it can only be done if the MP has been convicted of a criminal offence or suspended from Parliament

Tbf hard to draw up rules to cover every eventuality and someone just not turning must be pretty unique , I know some Irish MPs never took their seats but they would at least be active in their local communities.

According to wiki the constituents can't initiate the process, it's down to the speaker of the commons to start it. Then it needs 10% of constituents to sign and then they are recalled.

There's falsifying expenses claims on top of the reasons you mentioned but that's it

Jared O'Mara was the MP for Sheffield Hallam until the last election and did absolutely nothing but couldn't be removed

As you point out, I suppose it's difficult for it to be any other way really

You forgot to leap to Nadine Dorries’ defence

I expect there were spikes on GB news which sent the average higher.

Doubtless it was everyone at sky news wanting to have a giggle at Farage.

Id be amazed if this is a regular thing
