Honeyglaze were top in Liverpool last night. Decent venue too - District. Really enjoyed the support act Pem too. Proper nice sound like being in a good dream.

On the way home from Raging Speedhorn at Rebellion in Manc. Top stuff despite the shitty beers available.

Limp Bizkit looked on fire last night… might try and blag one for Saturday

Anyone doing The Levellers Collective at Buxton Opera House on Wednesday night? Quite fancy it, but no fucker else wants to go.

Pete Doherty in Oldham

On the one hand, he could've done so much more, on the other, he's lucky to be touring Oldham

Remember back in the 00s, he'd have 1k plus waiting for him to come on in some venue but he wouldn't turn up and instead shoot up and go off and do some other shit instead

Glad he's sorted himself out but I still think he's a cunt

Wish I'd seen the Libertines touring their first album though

I saw the original line up of The Libertines in London at an Indie club (I think it was called 'The Frog') when the first album was doing the rounds. Then I saw them in New Brighton at a mini-festival called "A Midsummer Nights Scream" (which The Coral organised and headlined if I remember correctly), but Doherty didn't turn up. Saw them at Glastonbury and Leeds, and he didn't bother with either of those. About a year later I watched him with Babyshambles in Preston and he was absolutely off his fucking tits. I'm sure he collapsed at one point. It's amazing he's still alive really. But then Keith Richards is still going.

The most off their tits I've ever seen a front man was arctic monkeys at Manchester central

They had these video screens and kept focusing right up on his face, with his eye balls going right up into the top of his head

Surprised he could stand up let alone play guitar or sing

But at least he turned up

Saw Arctic Monkeys a few times in their early years and never got the impression Alex Turner was on anything. I was probably too off my tits to notice though.

Just remembered one of Babyshambles' support acts in Preston was an act called 'Selfish Cunt'. It was basically a little skinhead wearing loads of make-up and screaming his head off. Great times.

Don't get me wrong he's let me down at a few Babyshambles and solo gigs over the years when you turn up and go home but the same happened with me and my dad following Shane MacGowan about. He's still got some magic about him and it's worth the trouble when it all comes off.

100% agree. Turner always feels like a straight up steady lyricist. Unless he's on about Doherty on before them at some gig I can't remember.

Definitely Turner

Definitely high as a kite that night even if just stoned and/or pissed

I found this even though he said he wasn't on anything when he did that Brits speech

I'm sure he dabbles but certainly not the extent Doherty did

If you watch that and think "That guys off his fucking tits!", you must've led a very sheltered life. 😁

I know when someone is off their tits when I see them, and he definitely was that night, and so was I

Just got back from watching Lottery Winners in Vienna. In great form, best I’ve seen them since the Apollo. Only a few hundred there so they did a bit of a show of hands and it was probably 50/50 between Austrian and English which was a bit mad really.

Levellers Collective were fuckin’ brilliant in Buxton. Billed as “acoustic” but they played every instrument known to man. Quality. Well worth going to see if they are playing near you in the next week or so.

Got two tickets for Mary Wallopers at Apollo tonight if anyone is interested?

Brilliant 👏. We watched them in Hamburg last Sunday. Less than a hundred there but a similar split.  Enjoyed Thom trying to speak German and explaining that the next song was a banger - "erm it's a bratwurst!"

Didn't really enjoy tonight. The music was brilliant and Peter was on top form but the crowd was a fucking disgrace. Big, fat cokeheads being loud as fuck.

Coke has absolutely destroyed British nightlife. Nothing worse than a group of cunts on that stuff.

It's really odd - started happening at the theatre as well. I mean who the hell takes coke to sit in silence for 2 hours? Mind you that's the problem, they don't and start singing along or talking all the way through.

Even our local (mind you it was once owned by the Krays so I guess there's illegal history there) on a Friday teatime when all the builders get off site is a bit of a whitewash (either that or they aren't allowed to have a shit on site all day)

I feel sorry for those that need to do it to appear interesting or part of a crowd.
