Leyther_Matt Posted May 25, 2025 Posted May 25, 2025 Did day one of Neighbourhood Weekender yesterday. Was a bit apprehensive about doing it sober, but really enjoyed it in the end. Certainly a rarity that James did both Sit Down & Laid so that was a bonus Quote

Saw them at lytham festival last year, and certainly seemed to have a bit of a God complex. Good show though Anyway, Lumineers tonight for me. Quote

Yeah he does have a bit of that aura about him, and he always goes a bit off piste about being in the moment and whatever and had a bit of a rant about folk watching it through phones, but it did the trick and can’t disagree tbf. Fair fucks to him, he did promise if folk would put their phones away then he’d crowdsurf. So he did….twice 😂 Quote

Number of people who watch the whole thing through a screen but don’t actually experience any of it is mad. Quote
Zico Posted May 25, 2025 Posted May 25, 2025 Watching Richard Ashcroft at Stevenage FC later Just found out there's 3 others on Optimist, then Futureheads, then The Zutons Will get there for the Zutons Quote
Big E Posted May 25, 2025 Posted May 25, 2025 Off to watch Reiner Zonnenveld tonight play all night long (well 11-3) can’t wait Quote
jmjhb Posted May 25, 2025 Posted May 25, 2025 Just seen Boomtown Rats (amongst others) at Worden Park in Leyland. Don't think it was quite as good as Billy Ocean last year, but enjoyable nevertheless Quote
green genie Posted May 26, 2025 Posted May 26, 2025 Elons algorithms must have watched my Twickets feed looking for Wunderhorse tickets and fed me load of stuff with arguments about gig etiquette with complaints about moshing and crushes at the front with crowd surfing. Sounds like a good night and much preferable to constant videoing and talking , but am I just a dinosaur brought up in the 80s ? Anyhow, be no such shenanigans at Throwing Muses tonight. Quote

Proper gig etiquette yesterday at slam dunk. During Electric Callboy's set someone had come a cropper, band stopped so they could get help, once sorted they carried on and folk continued to consensually beat the shit out of each other. freds dad Posted May 27, 2025 Posted May 27, 2025 Probably doesn’t fit in with the usual gigs folk on here are going to but we had two freebies to watch Kylie Minogue last Tuesday in Manchester. I wouldn’t have paid the £180 each that the tickets cost but it was actually a good show and I did recognise a few of the songs but was surrounded by men in shorts and vests carrying handbags. Quote
Zico Posted May 27, 2025 Posted May 27, 2025 Richard Ashcroft was good, he only did 12 songs but all good verve and solo stuff The Zutons were also good Sound quality was decent Was just a strange venue Part of a 3 day event, headliners on previous days were Ella Henderson and Skindred The only down side was that ticket sales looked shit, not a big crowd on Quote

Just too close to Slam Dunk to warrant the trip. Quote

Missed The Smiths at the time, so about 10 years ago went to see Morrisey at an arena gig. So self indulgent wasn’t true. Awful. Johnny Marr live on the other hand…..brilliant. Hope you have a better experience!! Edited May 27, 2025 by Bertie Quote

Their last two albums are highpoints. It's strange how after all these years they are finally in fashion rather than being seen as a one hit wonder. Quote

I'll post my favourite playlist I made a while ago when I pop.off this train. Ah the joys of Crewe... Quote
