Tea bags.

Remember a little while back when plastic in tea bags was in the news?

Out of curiosity, I went onto Yorkshire Tea's website and found a load of information about how they've got rid of oil based polymers and are now using plant based PLA, polylactic acid. Can now be degraded in industrial composting facilities, but not at home it explained.

Got me wondering, so found this:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.3dnatives.com/en/pla-filament-230720194/amp/

All is not well in the world of tea bags. :(

Really are fucking ourselves over!

loose tea from now on.

Used to use solvent (methylene chloride iirc)! Not now. Similar to how you remove an e from coffee.

  • Ill offer it for £25. Probably got a broader selection and save yourself a train ticket to that there London.

As I said on here many moons ago; women, generally speaking, don't make a brew as well as blokes. A fact of life.

Jesus,

£20 for 200g?

I know it's finings, but get bagged and simply open the bags.

Get a teapot and some muslin to strain it.

Well, they replied.

Straight bat answer, and no plans to offer decaf loose.

No surprise, but if no one asks...

Decaf teabag and scissors?

Teabag stuff is shite.

Hence the bag.

It's too fine for a sieve.

Aye. Just cut one open and weighed contents. Approx 1g of tea.

Looking at other companies' websites they're saying 3g for 180ml or 5g for 400ml.

A mug of Yorkshire stuff uses one bag, therefore around 1g.

Cut and empty may be in order, though I do wonder what method they employ.

Tea pot back in service.

Looks like every company now uses PLA in its tea bags so they're eco friendly, but having read that report, I'm sceptical.

Tomorrow's experiment. Got a tea ball somewhere, will have a look at that.

I just cut the bag and stick it in my coffee box, bag goes in normal bin.

I drink 2x225g bags of coffee a week.

I've a bag for life full (of used grounds) for my mates allotment compost...Just from this year...

The odd few I've tried seemed to taste like soil. Better used as plant food I reckon.

Afraid not, other than peppermint when I've got a cold or sore throat.

Never. It's the stuff of pedophiles. Any full grown man who admits to drinking a "fruit tea" deffo has suspect feelings towards minors.

Same as "decaf" - they're fucking odd as well, and need to be on a register

our trainee has just made me a brew with one of his tea bags, Twinnings, taste like tea with a couple of drops of Paco Rabban in it

I suppose I'm already on a register of sorts, so another for decaf wouldn't be a hassle.

I will have a decaf coffee if I fancy a brew of an evening. Very rare occurrence mind.

May be a cartoon of ‎text that says "‎casual labour what herbal teas do you have? just them, you know they all taste like fucking shit don't you? תחoA CAFÉ‎"‎

My caffeine intake is stupid. How I manage to sleep at night when my body is 90% coffee/tea I will never know. I've had 3 coffees already and it's only 10am.

Decaf can go in the room with "lightly battereds'

Last cup of tea i had must be over 40 years ago

Very rarely do hot drinks

I always have both in, and instant for peasants who 'don't like' actual coffee.

I put it (instant) in the cupboard and forget about it, lasts forever, it's freeze-dried, freeze dried crystals...

Where was I, if decaff naysayers visited my lair I'd make you one and you wouldn't have the foggiest...

I don't have trouble sleeping on caffeine, but the quality ain't there.

I have caffeinated morning and afternoon and as a training aid anytime, but it's decaff of an evening.

The difference in taste is practically non-existent.

Beer delivers alcohol to you, cigarettes deliver nicotine to you, tea and coffee deliver caffeine to you.

If your postman knocked on just to give you a cheery wave you'd chase him up and down the street with a stout stick.

When you say coffee, do you mean instant?
