Never understand when you see these wankers in 30/40/50 grand Mercs or Audi's with their phone to their ear. It's a car that will clearly have Bluetooth so no reason for it. Can only assume its a hire car or "borrowed".

And loads seem to get away with it.

Proper wankers. Pikeys will have phone attached to their ear, no seat belt on and a kid sat on their knee whilst driving and never get caught.

Just asked a mate who works for the police. He said even just touching your phone whilst driving (it makes no difference if you're stationary) and you're on very sticky ground. He reckons you'll be wasting your time trying to argue it.

Police didn't even look, heres an incident number go through your insurance.

Fuck knows what it will be with 6 points.

At what point do you fuck it all off and go on the dole.

10k per year? Fucking hell.

I though that 1k last year for my electric van was a con, but that's outrageous. Gone down over 300 quid this year which is good!

6.5k on the van, 3.5k on the car.

Because the police didn't catch anyone it goes down as a fault claim.  As they smashed up 2 cars it's 2 write offs that are my fault.

It's a load of bullshit

Fooking annoying. I've got a fault claim because someone tried to ram me off the road a few years ago. Found the van with blue stripe and damage, owner just said it wasn't him driving and to prove it was.. police then did fook all.

Ridiculous that.

Bad enough that you get the "blame", but those prices are astronomical.

No wonder some folk drive without insurance.

Oh they'll getcha... They always do

Couple of points mate, did MIB get involved in the untraceable driver? Your premiums will go up, but fuck me... Shouldn't be classed as fault.

Secondly, thedest an I have had a massive fall out today; mainly as we're both dickheads. She's been driving less than two years. She's gone to turn right on to an A road... In her left hand, a drive thru beverage. She turned the wheel underhand, across her body from right to left. At one point her wrist was bending back on itself.

Can someone please tell me how to say that's she's an idiot and not only endangering her life, but those around her; ideally she's breaking the law too? Because when I said it it came across as 'you stupid fucking cunt*'

Or is she ok to do that? Neither of us take feedback well, but she scares the shit out of me. One lad cut in two in an accident near us recently.

*Didn't call her a cunt to her face

You could tell her how dangerous it is and is she cause and accident by her actions she may get done with dangerous driving or even causing death pay dangerous driving.

The repercussions on herself could be monumental and she may not be there for the ones she loves.

I’ve got one of them in my house…

10-2 position no longer recommended but driving with both hands on the steering wheel is in the Highway Code

it says “ should” but also follows up with “ unless using cars assist systems “ and “ where possible “

I interpret that as changing gear / indicators and other assist systems on a steering wheel

not a bottle of Lucozade sport after football training.

I think the assist bit is these clever cars which measure a gap and then steers into it to reverse park

One thing I learned on a speed awareness course I went on is that you can still get done being on your phone even if you are using hands free.

Really? So if I use my voice recognition to call someone and talk as though they are in the car with me, never picking up a handset I can get done for that?

Seems a bit harsh.

It does considering your can talk to a passenger I suppose , but even that can constitute driving without due care , but we have banned all mobile communication in company vehicles whether handsfree or not because of this. You can get done ( company wise) if you knowingly conduct a conversation with someone who is driving, if i ring someone and hear the sound of driving I have to say “ call me back when you’re stopped”
I love it because a long drive is now a break again, rather than a constant barrage of calls, but then it’s a pain when I need something and have to pull over to call, but on the whole I prefer it as don’t miss the pop master year answer 😁

Fair enough - I did almost rear end a car last week as someone called and I looked at the display to see who it was!

Does this extend to doing air drums at the lights?

Lad just started driving lessons and his instructor is insisting on hand at ten and two.

My company driving policy is basically don't bother or pull over to take calls. Easier said than done when driving somewhere.

Sooner just work from home than be taking calls at Sandbach services delaying where I actually have to be...

I find knees at twenty past eight works fine too.

It’s how I was taught 35 years ago using the police drivers’ programme; Roadcraft.

Apparently, it is now deemed dangerous because of potential airbag deployment.
