Well it was headlines in the Telegraph, Guardian and Independent. Maybe others🤷‍♂️

Together with other media outlets.

Including here.

It is a big story, and simply adds a little more to the growing tension in the country around creeping state control.

I've just looked for news stories on him.

There seems to be lots of articles. But mainly in Polish.

I've got a feeling this story might be being amplified on the Newsfeeds of the people who would most likely tend to be outraged by this kind of story, and/or have had it sent to them, and/or have seen it as part of their social media algorithms.

I've genuinely not heard anybody mention this bloke (or the march in general) since it took place. I've seen a bit about the marches on TV and in newspapers, and a lot on here.

I think we need to understand that what is a hot topic on wanderersways isn't necessarily an accurate barometer of how important bits of news are to the general public.

So were the articles you googled🤷‍♂️

😁 EXACTLY!

So if the stories coming up are Polish news articles from last week - then it's hardly a 'massive news story' as has been claimed.

Compare and contrast with what comes up if you put an actual massive news story in this country (the Labour leadership challenge) and Google Andy Burnham.

Lots of articles, in English, and in the newspapers every day.

I think (based on your particular biases) you have an over inflated idea of how important this story was to the vast majority of people.

Barring any huge news revelations, I imagine his name won't make the UK press in any meaningful way ever again. Perhaps fleetingly if he actually sues the PM (which I have my doubts about). Or if the march happens again next year and the story gets regurgitated.

I bet if you asked 100 people at random in the street who this guy is, very fee would be able to tell you. I just don't think it's invaded the public consciousness in the way that you think/hope it has.

No one said it was a ‘massive’ story. It was mentioned in a conversation and you and LW asked who it was. The fact that you and he hadn’t heard of him doesn’t means that hundreds of thousands of others hadn’t.
Thats it🤷‍♂️

As for my ‘particular biases’ all I’m doing is giving out some factual information.
I’ll leave it there. Have a nice day.

You have one too.

And apologies - you're right. It was TMGJ who said it was a 'big' story. Not a 'massive' story.

I don't think it's either and will be chip shop wrapper in 48 hours.
