I didn't say "at the airport". Protestors don't have to travel to the thing they're protesting against.

Anyway, you were right, and there was a protest. Outside a police station in Rochdale. Terrifying.

They’ve already made this a religious issue.

They know that brings vast numbers in terms of support because the Muslim community is so tight.

Tell me where in any of this the police did it because the lad was Team Allah.

I've never claimed anything of the sort. I obviously haven't seen the tweets you're getting so excited about.

From what we know this has fuck all to do with religion or race. And we know why they are trying to make it about that but it’s completely unhelpful - not unlike some actions during the general election.

But it looks like the police were provoked but still crossed a line.

Nobody comes out of this well.

You clearly haven’t.

That doesn’t mean thousands of angry Muslims haven’t though.

Get this - they’ve managed in some cases to squeeze in a Palestinian flag and call the police Zionists.

Even Amir Khan has taken time out of his busy schedule to record a video calling it disgusting. He mustn’t have seen the news about anything else that’s happened.

Ignore it all you like, this will build and Twitter will be a factor.

I can't ignore something I don't see in the first place. I'll just refrain from actively searching for it and go about my day.

Out of curiousity, what are you going to do about it?

Quaking in my boots. Hopefully there's a counter-protest and they all kick fuck out of each other.

I’m leaving it to the police.

They seem to have it under control.

aye, this will all pass me by and I'll probably see clips here and there

but you didn't seem to think social media was used to whip up folk into a frenzy because you hadn't seen any examples of it, but since shown a couple of examples of how it does and can

just so you know like

He obviously knows it’s used for that. If you posted saying it never is he would be posting multiple examples where it has. Proper weird

Of course, there were never any protests or riots or mass demonstrations before twitter.

Are you okay Cheesy? Usually quite enjoy reading your clever arguments. But you seem to be going for everyone and anyone at the moment. Even those making perfectly reasonable points. Just sit back & enjoy mate, the Tories are gone 😁

In other news, that headstamp doesn’t look good at all really, given the position he’s in on the floor. Makes sense that he’s been removed from duty.

However, four officers have been violently assaulted & one female officer has had her nose broken. All before the armed police arrived. Disgusting behaviour really. Why anyone is out protesting before knowing the full details is beyond me. Ignorance at its finest.

Time will tell, but it looks like the police had to use force in this situation. Apart from the head stamp.

Hopefully the situation doesn’t escalate.

I'm bob on mate. The Tories might be gone, but their culture war legacy will be sloshing around for a long time yet.

All people have seen is the head kick and stamp while he's already zapped and panned out. Which was sickenining and there's no real way you can get around that.

It's always gonna get a more emotive reaction than a gmp statement on Twitter.

Aye there were no culture wars before the tory government.

There was obviously racism and homophobia etc., but it was slowly eroding away. They revived it and made sure it steeped into everyday life again. Can't have a quiet pint these days without overhearing some dickhead ranting about Muslims and transexuals that have no effect on his life whatsoever. Maybe I'm more sensitive to it because I'm a transexual Muslim.

How do you reckon all that was whipped up then?

Twitter perhaps? Facebook perhaps?

Oh no nothing gets whipped up on twitter forgot.

Not from what I've seen but Twatter is Twatter.

People who are supporting head stamping by a police officer while someone is panned out are whoppers.

Aye

sums it up for me.

copper doesn’t do that & the story we’ve got is of four people violently assaulting police & staff in an airport. Not helped the situation & could have been worse.
