Did we see any of these prominent Muslims all over social media after the arean bombing or various grooming scandals?

All people have seen is the head kick and stamp while he's already zapped and panned out. Which was sickenining and there's no real way you can get around that.

It's always gonna get a more emotive reaction than a gmp statement on Twitter.

I'm not sickened in the slightest. If you attack armed police officers at the airport, a gentle tap on the head should be the least of your worries.

Not from what I've seen but Twatter is Twatter.

People who are supporting head stamping by a police officer while someone is panned out are whoppers.

If that someone has just broke a woman's nose it's fair game to me. Especially if that woman is armed police in an airport.

He should be shot dead.

Without seeing the full context, booting a bloke in the face and  stamping on a his head while he’s lying on is front with his hands behind his back is excessive force.

I’d have no problem with him kicking the shit out of him if he was on his feet and resisting.

England mostly.

Surprising with you being a moonman. Did you report these racist comments to the landlord and police or did you just let it go?

Yes, and they were all arrested and thrown in jail.

Of course, there were never any protests or riots or mass demonstrations before twitter.

there was

twitter and social media makes it easier to whip up a frenzy

see the Rishi Sunak link I posted

you seem determined that social media doesn't play a  part in what goes on in the "real" world these days

get a grip man

There was obviously racism and homophobia etc., but it was slowly eroding away.

was it fuck

it's always been here

as will smith said

"Racism is not getting worse, it’s getting filmed"

but you don't take much notice of the wider social media world it seems, so you probably missed it

It's the "IF" isn't it.  All we've seen is the head kick and stamp while someone is decked out. Which is why the reaction is what it is, They're reacting to what they've seen.

The videos come out of them going around twatting every cunt the reaction will be different.

America is a different story altogether.

I take plenty of notice. I just don't get "whipped up into a frenzy" about it.

However, four officers have been violently assaulted & one female officer has had her nose broken. All before the armed police arrived.

I'm still trying to understand the timeline based on the police statement and the videos seen because the idea that the assaults occured before the armed police doesn't stack up

Officers were called to reports of an altercation between members of the public in Terminal 2 at Manchester Airport.

so that will be when they turn up at first in these videos at which point it hasn't kicked off, but the armed police are there already, pointing tasers and then use the pepper spray

Whilst attempting to arrest one of the suspects of the earlier altercation, three officers were subject to a violent assault, where they were punched to the ground.

so it looks like it kicked off after the pepper spray had been used, and that's when the initial video starts with the head kick

A female officer suffered a broken nose and all three were taken to hospital for treatment.

because it seems she can be seen in that video with her nose bleeding

so to me it looks like the armed police were there from the off, tried to arrest them, they were having none of it, got the pepper spray out, which is when the lads fought back and cops were assaulted, and noses broken, tasers used and heads kicked in

might not be the case, but i'm not having it that it kicked off before the armed police showed up

it will all come out in the end, as there will undoubtedly be CCTV that would show those lads assaulting coppers before the armed ones show

it just doesn't look like it from what we've seen

Again, to be fair to Cheese that wasn't what he was saying. He was saying because of the conservatives reaching for the right in a way to sure up support they actively persued divisive politics which in turn allowed racist ideology to become more vocal across society, its not that it wasn;t there but in becomes a more everyday occurance because people feel they are initalied to voice these views if certain dog whistle tactics are emplyed by the people who are leading the country. Its not just the conservatives, but populism in general which flourished in the aftermath of the economic crisis and in the UK made worse by the continuing programme of austerity which created a them vs us narrative across the population.

aye

the point he made which I didn't agree with was that racism and homophobia was eroding

my point was I don't think it was, it was always there,

a combination of social media, brexit, blm, turmp, farage, etc etc have given people the "confidence" and chance to get their views out there in a way we've not seen before

some of the replies to the tweets of the airport videos are depressing

those aren't thoughts or opinions that folk only developed after the economic crash or when the tories have been in power, they'vea always had them

folk have always been racist, islamohobia has gained momentum since 9/11 and all the terrorism and grooming of the 00s onwards

but saw plenty racism in bolton in the 80s and 90s

I don’t give a fuck if the government is made up of several dozen hard boiled eggs in a homemade mayonnaise

Immediately blaming a boot off at an airport on religion is the biggest fucking dog whistle you’ll ever hear (or not, but you get my drift).

It works both ways this.

As much as angry men with thick necks cop a swipe for leaping on the soldier being stabbed, the Pakistani/muslims digging out the Islam/palestine nonsense for this are just as bad.

If it was a white lad in those videos there’s no way 100’s of “Christians” would have gathered in Rochdale last night.

Let’s get this right shall we?
