  • Can not speak for @gonzo but coming back yesterday we ended up with one  of our seats double booked with a protester. We chatted most of the way back, I told him I  was not a supporter and he was fine

  • I just wish folk would stop producing bollocks information and spreading it. 3 kids have been murdered ffs and the first thing someone can think of is set up a fake twitter profile and post some

As for the EU, it didn't stop Italy, Greece etc from being invaded

Wonder why the spike after 2020?

Also leaving the ECHR will not stop boats coming whatsoever.

We are still in a refugee convention from 1951.

We can't leave them bobbing about at sea and France won't take them back.

Do we think that the recent rise in anti-semitic attacks is linked to the ever increasing cuntishness of the Israeli government/armed forces etc?

When we were in the EU it didn’t mean we could just turn boats around. If we were still in the EU now we would probably still have a shit loads of boats coming

Fair point, but given the prominence of the story it seems strange that the third attack has so little coverage. But certainly the two happening in the street is a factor , having CCTV seems to make any story more newsworthy.

I also read the guy was put away before for stabbing a police dog. Radicalisation of folk with clear mental health issues is a massive threat.

By rights it should, but I suppose the reality is there's not as much mileage in "man stabs friend", and especially if there's a possibility the other two were targeted because of their ethnicity

I think your last sentence is part of the reason why the small boats crisis has such salience

Indeed but we removed ourselves from the table of discussion and any incentive France had of stopping them or taking them back vanished over night.

Hence the giant spike.

"Boris-wave"

Post Brexit & Covid we attempted an Australian style points system for EU immigrants but intentionally opened up to non-EU immigrants!!!!!

I've posted about precisely this several times.

Typically ignored as it doesn't suit.

The convention is barely used by other EU nations neither.

It's just another political fudge.

Nothing to stop France returning every illegal migrant from wherever they came from, but they don't.

They're right about us needing to reduce the incentives, but they should also look at their own approach.

We would have to accept a shit load from Ireland as well

The fact the ‘story’ becomes more important than the ‘news’ is exactly the point I am making.

But the ones we accepted were ones that we would have accepted as asylum seekers anyway, so they different than ‘illegals in boats.’ So the system was people come looking for asylum and are allocated to the most appropriate (if any) EU country. Because of geography we had less getting here so less to send back. Look at the numbers he is quoting as a % of what we see now it is tiny.

No one has really come up with a credible explanation of the spike post Brexit have they ?
And no one has come up with a credible plan of how to return them anywhere.

Immigration has fell across much of Europe, countries are becoming stricter which has forced many towards the U.K. I’ve said it on here before, we are surrounded by water and that should be our best defence it’s however the exact opposite.

For "story", you could just read bigger news item

People being attacked in the street because of their race will always attract more attention than an isolated incident of a person stabbing their friend because it impacts on more people and speaks to larger questions about the health of the society we live in

Pure coincidence, mate.

The full story is he stabbed three people. As I said understand that the attacks in the street are the main reason it hit the headlines so quickly. Ignoring the third stabbing is not telling or reporting the full story.

What ? Not sure that makes any sense at all.

But at least you seem to acknowledging he was not only attacking Jews. I think.

Remain unsure. It suits you.

No. It's to do with the cuntishness of those carrying out the attacks around the world. Primitives.

Precisely. Simply a product of timing.

As news of the third stabbing has become known, it's increasingly appeared in news reports

It isn't being ignored

Nah

Such an argument just sets a dangerous precedent of deflecting from the issue of racial Islam.

No different from TMGJ trying to deflect from the racist bigots attacking police & immigrants in Epsom.

Blame lies with the perpetrators and those who radicalise them.

What we do need to start doing with the current Israeli government is treating them the same as we do other extremist governments.

Sanctions, withdrawal of military support & military intervention to force the recognition of Palestine if necessary.

But we can’t be blaming them for attacks here

That and our increased Islamic population, the silence from the Mosques and Muslim leaders is deafening... cue Polanski chasing the Muslim vote

Why because some mental case attacked three people, two of which were Jewish?

I don't expect faith leaders of any flavour to comment on every attack but with just 6% of the UK being Muslim they do disproportionately represent the worst offences.

Baroness Falkner of Margravine (herself a Muslim) has today said she was "utterly dismayed" by the "deafening silence" of the Muslim communities regarding one of their own committing such acts.

Rupert Lowe.

On the toilet! 🤣

So fucking what? That's her opinion. It makes mine no less valid.

It used to be blacks or Irish, then single parents, then Polish workers, then students and now anyone brown it seems regardless of how they arrived here.

The problem is folk wonder why foreign conflicts might impact at us at home and a frankly very British sense of entitlement. We are reaping what we have soed from our empire.
