Coober Pedy is a fucking awful place.

Dusty and grim. Boiling in summer.

Don't suppose you've been to Oodnadatta? Beer at the Pink Roadhouse?

But the results for 2023 are 3rd whether you look at that in April 24 or Dec 2065.

It’s almost like some folk don’t like us being up there. Some strange folk about…. And nearly forgot despite Brexit. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Spot on there.

Treat such things lightly, as I said before, but there does seem to be a desire to constantly put the country down.

I was reading an article the other week about oat milk.

The arse has dropped out of the market as  sales gone have gone down, and concerns about its health properties (or lack of).

Being up there based on well founded stats is one thing

Posting based on complete bollocks with no facts to back it up and a disreputable source is another

But if you prefer the latter then crack on

Not sure what you mean by disreputable but this is from the source. It’s not definitive. I found it interesting. Others may not.

A companion to the overall 2023 Best Countries rankings from U.S. News, the 2023 Most Influential Countries rankings draw from a global survey of more than 17,000 people. They are based specifically on how approximately 8,200 respondents classified as “informed elites” – college-educated individuals who consider themselves middle-class or higher and who read or watch the news at least four days a week – associated various countries with five particular attributes: a leader, connected to the rest of the world, has an influential culture, politically influential and strong international alliances

Feel free to read previous posts.

They're all to be taken with a pinch of salt.

However, that doesn't get away from the fact that you and others seem to like to criticise anything that paints the nation in a good light.

There is an informative book, albeit not an easy read, titled "The war on the west". Now it is extremely heavily based on facts together with studied observations.

It is a good insight into the creeping anti Western attitudes that now pervade throughout society.

Perhaps have a read seeing as you insist on facts etc.

When polling companies canvass opinion over voting intentions or other such things, although they're not perfect, they generally are a reasonable reflection of future outcomes, especially if they become consistent.

Folk belive them, but not the sort of study that you have listed, even though there is a degree of rigour in its creation. Weird eh!

Now clearly asking a different set of people may yield different results, but we can only go off this set of data at the moment.

Hasty, critical comments possibly lacking in some rigour about a lack of rigour are somewhat ironic, and unnecessarily snooty.

Ah well.

If they have to be taken with a pinch of salt then don't post them trying to make a point

Following on therefore "They're all to be taken with a pinch of salt" so treat them with suspect

So therefore you can dismiss them

I posted it. I wasn’t trying to make a point. It wasn’t in reply to anything. I found it interesting how others view us and thought others would find it interesting to.

The amusing thing today has been people trying to discredit the source without knowing the source.

No we didn't. Our van was rubbish off road, not even sure you can get there on a sealed road?
